Deception

Deception means the act of causing someone to accept as true or valid what is false or invalid.

Today, I will be coming from Jeremiah 9. In verse 6, it says thine habitation is in the midst of deceit; through deceit, they refuse to know me. Verse 8 says, their tongue is an arrow shout out; it speaketh deceit: one speaketh peaceably to his neighbor with his mouth, but in heart, he layers his wait.

Yes, the devil tries to deceive us, trick us, and throw threats at us, as Apostle Keta preached on Friday service, which was a great message, but we don’t have to fall for or believe everything Satan is trying to throw at us to cause us to tremble, stumble, fall, fail, be tricked, etc.

Yes, Satan tries to deceive, but how have we tried or are deceiving ourselves? And that is just helping the devil even more. In the above scriptures, the people's habitation (a dwelling place) was in a pool of deceitfulness. They deceived themselves by refusing to know or serve God. Their tongue spoke deceit because they were saying one thing but on the inside thinking another way (which also means trying to live one way on the outside, but on the inside, you’re doing the complete opposite ).

If your mind is not made up to serve God, you are living in deceit, and you’re living in deceit because we NEED God, and there's no way around that. So, the longer we think we don’t need salvation, can do what we want, not be accountable or responsible to God, not listen or be obedient, not try to learn more about God, not try to live right, etc., we are deceiving ourselves, and we are making the devil's job 10x's easier because we are already deceived away from the truth.

Another way we are deceiving ourselves is by living a double life. On the outside, we try to make it seem as if we are trying to live right, or we may have stopped this sin, or I’m going to act this way in front of them, or I’m going to try to speak holy and act holy. But you can’t fake salvation. Your fruit will show the real you no matter what and God will show different ones the real you. We have to stop helping the enemy, and making his job easier. We ALL need God, and that’s the truth. Stop deceiving yourselves!
