Everyone has a part to play

Everyone has a part to play. If you're saved you are a part of God’s universal body. What I mean by that is, there are people all over the world that are saved and we are all a part of God since we are saved.

1 Corinthians 12: 12 says, “For as the body is one and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also, is Christ.”

1 Corinthians 12:14 says, “For the body is not one member, but many.”
The bottom line is we are all one. But how can we all be one if everyone isn’t doing their part?

We need the legs, arms, lungs, heart, etc. All these parts and more make up a body, even down to your fingers. If one of our body parts stops working it's hard to move, and we would have to adjust to this new change.

We should be a strong body. We should be doing our part to make the body work. If the legs and feet stopped moving, we’re going to fall. Your part doesn’t have to be major to people, but it’s major to God.

For example, a saved mailman could be doing his part in God’s body, by simply being nice to people when he drops off their mail. A preacher like my pastor could be doing their part by preaching whatever God tells them to preach.

No matter how big or small your part may be, do it to the glory of God. We don’t really dwell much on doing everything to the glory of God. Now, I'm not saying every time you eat a piece of chip say, “I’m doing it to the glory of God.” But I am saying at your job, at the house, at church, at school, wherever it may be, do your part and do it to honor God.

The body needs everything to work. God gave all of us a job to do on this earth. Everyone’s job is not to be famous; it could simply be to show kindness. You may not be sure what your part is but pray and ask God to show you.
