Pray with Fire

I attend a Christian school and in class we watched a young man preach about praying with fire. It was really a big eye-opener to me.
I prayed after watching the video and I believe the Lord told me some things. He put an impression on my heart that I need to put power into this blog and I need to say everything I need to say no matter how long this blog may be. He also said to me that he is going to move through this blog.
We've got to pray with fire. Some of your physical bodies are healthier than your spiritual bodies. Many times, we pray for something we want, think we need, or just unnecessary things in general. When we pray, we are supposed to want to build a relationship with God. We shouldn’t pray just to take from God. God wants to talk to us too.
But if you never pray how can you truly hear from God? Prayer invites God in, builds a personal relationship with God, and it is a weapon God gave us to use against the enemy. We think we can handle everything, so we think prayer isn’t important. When you do things on your own and don’t include God, you're telling him, “I don’t need you.”
As I continued to listen to the man, I started to cry because we do God so wrong. You know how the cartoons and movies find a lamp and then rub it and a genie comes out. That’s how we think God is going to show up. But, sorry to burst your bubble, he’s not. God is a gentleman, he knocks on our door asking to come in. And guess what we tell him? No.
God comes knocking again and says, "I can help just let me in." Yet, we reject him again. We reject God and he gave his one and only son, Jesus, for us. Jesus died for us and we reject him. We reject the one who made the ultimate sacrifice for us and who created us. He knew we weren't going to love him, pray to him, etc., like we're supposed to and need to, but he still loved us. We need to stop these sorry prayers that are just about us. We pray to know God, to let him dwell in us.
I had to take the Word I heard, and I brought it to God. It's like I could feel him with me when I was praying. It was a sincere prayer. I want to do better. I pray you do too. Jesus should be our everything, our number one. He shouldn’t be someone we pray to when we are in need or in a bad situation. But you have another opportunity to get it right. Pray with fire all the time.
We need to pray daily because we need God daily. Some of you might not pray daily, but you need to because you have no clue what you're missing!
James 4:3: When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.
Colossians 4:2: Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.
2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
