Speak the Word

Read Matthew 4:1-11.

Jesus was led by the Spirit to go to the wilderness, and Satan showed up, and tried to tempt Jesus.

I was praying today to God about how Chief Apostle H.C. Gunn (my Pop Pop) had brought forth the Word about deliverance. He said that God already gave us victory, and we must obey what the Word tells us to do even when we are battled, tempted, or tested by certain things. I said, "Lord, when you were in the wilderness, you quoted the scripture to Satan."

I had to take a minute because I realized what I had said was so powerful. Jesus used the Word and the power his Father gave him to overcome temptation. Even though the devil could quote scripture, he doesn't have any authority compared to or over God, so his quoting scripture can't work unless we give in to the devil.

Jesus stood on the Word, and eventually, Satan had to flee. We can't let the devil win! Whenever we see a test, temptation, or something we have been battling with come up, we need to stand on God's Word with all of our hearts. There's life in God's Word, and life and death is in the power of our tongue. So, if we speak life, which is the Word, and operate in the power God has given us -- then we can overcome whatever is trying to stop us. Amen!!!

Side Note: I have been having recurring knee issues because I injured it a while ago, but I thank God for a leader and a Pop Pop who is willing to pray for me and say whatever the Lord has given him. I'm healed, and I receive my healing!!
