The Fear of the Lord

Proverbs 15:33- “The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom and before honor is humility.”

In the Bible, we see numerous mentions of fearing the Lord. The verse above says when you fear the Lord, it will make you wise, and we have to be humble before we can be honored.

Fearing the Lord is respecting God and knowing who he is, that he is God over everything, and fully surrendering to him and reverencing all his power and glory!

God is the King of kings and Lord of lords. God is the Alpha and the Omega. God is our Savior! Fearing God causes you to become wise because you recognize who God is, and it causes you to want to serve him and no one else.

Lately, God has sent word to our body to get to know him. And this is helping us to know God even more! Next to that is humility. We must humble ourselves before God, tell him our weaknesses, learn our strengths, and pour everything out to Him. Then, he will honor us for humbling ourselves, which is also a part of fearing God because we want to tell God everything because we don’t want to live in sin. We should just want to be honest with our father. God already knows everything, but he is looking for his children to be honest with him and trust in him, knowing we can talk to him about anything!
