We Can Be A Job: Will You Trust God?

Pastor Amaya Stewart

Job was a man who was dedicated to God. He had his eyes focused on Him.

In the book of Job, Satan was permitted by God to tempt Job. God knew Job was not going to turn his back on him. Satan took away Job's children, cattle, riches, and health.

In all this, Job did not sin. He honored God because he knew God was in control of everything and he trusted God that he took away all these things for a reason. Do we trust God that much? Do we trust him enough that if everything we had was gone, we would still honor God?

Job didn’t get mad at God. Because guess what, none of these things are ours. It all belongs to God. We must stop worshipping things. God owns it all and he’s just letting us borrow it. We shouldn’t get mad at God for the things he has allowed to be taken away from us or even the things we've allowed to be lost ourselves.

We can still have our praise. We can still honor him with everything.

Some of you may have been tried before, where something of yours got taken away. How did you act? How did you respond? Did you take it out on God? All of us can be like Job, where no matter what may get taken from us, we will still praise God.

But the problem is we are too selfish.

We care about ourselves too much. When really, we should put ourselves last and put God first. Let go of these things you may be holding on to. It's not promised that you will keep those things forever. God can let something happen to where it is taken away right now.

But do you love God enough to still give him the glory, honor, and praise?
