Hebrews 11: 24-25

By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called son of Pharaoh’s daughter; choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season.

Pleasure means a feeling of happy satisfaction and enjoyment. Moses didn’t want to sin against God, so he suffered affliction rather than fulfill his own sinful pleasures. We can have sinful pleasures, but we can also have holy pleasures. We could joy in God, the things of God, we can be happy serving Jesus, etc. But we could also have pleasures in doing sinful things. We shouldn’t want to sin against God just to have that feeling of happiness or excitement that isn’t going to last that long.

We don’t understand that when we sin, it is filling something in us that will never be filled. Why? Because that thing that will fill us is Jesus. Jesus is the answer. We can be happy and joy in Jesus. Salvation is fun and joyful! Moses was willing to suffer for God rather than have the pleasures of sin, which isn’t going to last long.

When we sin, we may feel good for that moment, or we may enjoy it for that moment, but after it’s over, you grieve because you sinned against God and that feeling goes away so fast! But when you have pleasure in Jesus that feeling will last forever! When you have Jesus, it doesn’t just last for a season it will last forever.

If you truly love God and want to serve him, you don’t need nothing else but God! But when you sin you are looking for more or after it all you just ask yourself: what was the reason? But with Jesus it is the opposite!

Psalm 16:11
You will make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.

I had no clue what God wanted me to write this blog about, I read this scripture Friday morning, and it stood out to me! I prayed before the blog, and I went along with what Jesus wanted me to say! Let Jesus be your guide, he won’t lead you astray!
