When You Get Blessed

God has been telling us through Chief Apostle H.C. Gunn that he is going to bless our body, The Body of Christ Inc. family, all the way down to the youngest in the body which is my baby cousin Yireh, and her twin brother Yoel. God has been doing exactly what he has been telling us. He has been moving and blessing left and right and I’m so grateful and I’m so happy for everyone, but we have to remember to not throw God to the curb as soon as we get blessed.

Sometimes we have found ourselves forgetting about God or not paying attention to him because we get blessed. We have to keep seeking his face, keep serving him, keep praising him, keep giving, stay in our wait, etc. God is looking for us to be blessed but he wants us to not desire those things more than him.

For example, say you have a pair of shoes that are getting old and they are too tight for you, God said he will send you another pair. When you get that new pair you are so ready to wear them that you don’t even remember to tell God thank you. We have to make sure we stay seeking and serving God and that we don’t begin to make things or people an idol. When God blesses you, be grateful but make sure you don’t let the blessing be your main focus or it’ll cause you to lose sight of God.

Another thing, use your blessing from God as a blessing for others. It could be giving, helping someone else, or just simply sharing your testimony. Your testimony can help show someone that God can do anything and that they can trust God in whatever he says. We are supposed to help build God’s kingdom!

Jeremiah 17: 7-8

7 “But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him.
8 They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”
