Where is it?

Malachi 1:6: ”A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my fear? saith the LORD of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name?“

I saved this scripture in my notes maybe a week ago, and today Chief Apostle H.C. Gunn, my grandfather he said God asked, “What are you doing with my name?” In this scripture the Lord was telling the people how they were treating him, and the people said how have we did that. Why would they ever think that God doesn’t know what he is talking about and they think they have the right to question the Lord?

In the natural, we know how we act towards certain people. For example, if you have a job you are going to do what you can to make sure your boss is pleased with you, but do we ask God is he pleased with us?

If we say the Lord is our father, do we treat him like a father? Do we obey him like a father? Do we trust in him like a father? Do we communicate with him like a father? The list goes on and on.

God is wanting his people to give him the glory, praise, honor, reverence, etc., that he deserves. God is an amazing father and we need to show him that we appreciate him being the father he is. Read Malachi 1, and you’ll see everything the Lord was telling the people.

We can’t do things half way when it comes to God. When we truly realize what God has done for us we will treat him the way a king deserves to be treated. Be the one who God can say I know my child loves me. I want to be a child God can depend on, trust, talk to, etc. I want God to know I love him, and that I’m so grateful to have a father like him.

Exodus 20:7
“You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.
