Why Are We Still Separated from God

Romans 8:39: “Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

This scripture is literally telling us nothing can separate us from the love of God, BUT why are we still separated?

We choose to let sin and ourselves separate us from God’s love. Love is God, so if you are separated from love, are you separated from God? God doesn’t want any separation between him and his children, but when we let sin in that causes division. God still loves us and cares for us, but he can’t dwell with sin.

God will strengthen us and help us to get rid of sin, but he can’t be friends with sin. Clean and dirty don’t mix. You're not going to put your dirty clothes with clean clothes, you are going to separate them because they can’t go together.

We need to see any place in us that is separated from God. I don’t want to be separated from God. We should want to be as close to him as possible.
