Word of the Week: Trust God
On this week's FORREAL Radio Broadcast, Chief Apostle H.C. Gunn taught listeners about the importance of trusting God.
The message leaves us with the questions: Are you currently trusting God? Can God trust you? Do you trust God with your children? Are you trusting God in your sickness for your healing?
Chief Apostle Gunn asked these questions on this week's radio broadcast as he taught from Proverbs 3. In the first verse, "My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments,” we have a call to attention. Then there are instructions that follow as we continue to read in Proverbs 3:2-5:
2. For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
3. Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind
them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:
4. So shalt thou find favor and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
5. Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
Through this message, which matches the scriptures beautifully, we are encouraged to teach our children. We have to first trust God ourselves, and then we have to trust God with them by taking the teaching. The children follow our example more than just what we say. Guess what? Other people are watching you as well. How you live says a lot, and can be a great witness that leads someone else out and into the knowledge of Jesus, as our Lord and Savior.
Chief said, “we can’t obey people's emotions,” which indicates a dependence on Jesus to respond like Christ. Without trusting God you are guaranteed to want to get physical. Maybe even fail the test and actually come to blows with the offender. Even the thought of wanting to slap somebody is failing the test, and you know that’s not what God would want you to do. Jesus is saying trust me even in your emotions, trust me so that you can have a long life, and peace in it. Trust me by being truthful, and showing mercy. Trust me so you can have understanding. Trust me with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength. Activate your faith. Jesus will work it out.
Chief Apostle H. C. Gunn taught us through this radio broadcast “My son, Trust God,” that God will take what the Devil meant for bad and make it good when you trust HIM! And when you truly fellowship with God, you'll have the ability to trust God even more.
Will you trust God today?
