We are back with another great message for you today. I just want to start by saying, I give all glory and honor to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is an honor to share the Word with you today!
Before we get started, I just want to say this message is truly an eye-opener. We know Christmas is coming soon and so many of us are running around shopping, spending hundreds of dollars, and making plans for the holidays. But what if God is calling you to slow down?What if he can't get your attention because you are to busy eating Christmas cookies? Today is your day and I have a special message just for you. You may not be ready but by the end, I pray you will be....let's get started!!

Scriptures: Proverbs 11:1, Proverbs 16:11, Proverbs 20:23
What are your intentions? We need to stop and truly examine our intentions and our motives. Listen, I'm going to show you what the Lord gave me in prayer. The text for this message is "Cancel Christmas...A New Balance." This is the last thing a person who wants to do things their way wants to hear. But God is trying to free you tonight because we have put too much of our focus on Christmas and not eternal life.
Let me warn you about these devices the enemy is using to steal the minds of the children. The enemy is working over time by sending subliminal messages through the TV, tablets, cell phones, computers, and video games. We are giving too much attention to the media and not to God. So days with Jesus are made to look gray in this culture with the expectations and lack of satisfaction with anything.
Is that you? Are you letting these devices rule you, your house, and your children? Tablets don't belong in church, leave them at home. If you want to read the bible buy one and bring it to church. Leave these Nintendo DS' at home, your child does not need that distraction on the way to church or from church. Take the time and prepare your hearts and minds for the word. Saints we know better but we have fallen in love with this age and not God.
Cancel Christmas!! Why? Because everything is out of balance when it comes to eternal life. God is trying to give you a new balance. Let it start with you. You set the tone for your house and let your children see how you approach God. They need to hear you praying and crying out to God. They need to hear you singing through the house. What happened to your song? You let the devil steal it through the cares of this life.
What is a new balance? When you set yourself and you don't want to put nothing ahead of your walk with God. When you wait in expectation and love his appearing. We look to be blessed, but we don't look to go home with God. We give everything to Christmas and nothing to eternal life. Too much of down here will get you caught up. We've got to change a dream Christmas for a dream Heaven.
Proverbs 11:1 and Proverbs 16:11 say, "A false balance is abomination to the Lord: but a just weight is his delight."
A just weight and balance are the Lord's: All the weights of the bag are his work.
You have to watch out for a false balance or a deceitful balance. In Deuteronomy, they would go to the Priest to get things weighed and measured according to God's way. Are you getting your balance from the house of God as you should? Who are you consulting concerning your decisions? Unscriptural decisions, measurements, statements, and understandings will have you messed up. Go and get Jesus according to scale. Do it how you were taught through the Word.
Cancel Christmas.... Cancel the way you see Christmas and focus on eternal life!
