40 DAYS OF MORE PRAISE - The Watch Letter
SAINTS! 40 DAYS OF MORE PRAISE! Chief Apostle H.C. Gunn sent this out to members of our church body Monday. If God is calling for more praise from his saints, that means praise is lacking.
This caused me to read in the Book of Psalms, because greater than the battles David won, was his commitment to praise.
I came across Psalm 92: “4 For thou, Lord, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands. 5 O Lord, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep. 6 A brutish man knoweth not; neither doth a fool understand this.”
It was convicting. This scripture is telling us that if we can’t recognize and rejoice in God’s works, ways, and mind then we are just as a brute or a fool. A brute has little intelligence/sensibility. A fool lacks understanding, reasoning, and is easily deceived.
It reminds me of something Chief Apostle Gunn mentioned earlier this year. He said: How shallow - of little depth - is our gratefulness (as God’s people).
We would be insulted if we were called shallow (or superficial) by someone, but that is who we are when we fail to give God the depth of glory that he is due.
I looked back over notes from messages Chief Apostle Gunn has taught since the end of 2023 and they all point to God calling for more honor.
In one message he asked: When will we begin to celebrate what God has already done instead of just talking about what we need from him or don’t have? We always undervalue what God has done in our situation and how God has brought us from darkness to light.
Every king desires honor. No matter what we feel President Biden did or didn’t do for us, in the moment that we find ourselves standing before him we would honor him as the leader of our country. It shouldn’t take God to do something we want done to honor him. Even God’s no is a blessing because it’s protecting or correcting us. No matter how we think or feel GOD IS STILL KING.
Recently, Chief Apostle Gunn showed me something I don’t ever want to forget: Throughout history, people have been more amazed at the Red Sea parting than at the Red Blood shed on the cross (that never loses its power). The Red Sea closed back up. It was a needed miracle for that moment. Yet, salvation is an eternal gift and unceasing fountain that goes beyond a single need or moment. But with shallow gratitude, how can we appreciate the depth of the love that was displayed by Jesus' obedience as a result of God’s grace?
Chief Apostle Gunn once said: If we can’t be grateful for anything else, we have two things we can always be happy about: Knowing that we are saved and we don’t have to go to hell. But we lack gratitude for who God is and what he says and does because we see him in a small manner. We diminish his effectiveness by not paying attention to him.
I read in Jeremiah 23:23-24 where God said: 23 Am I a God at hand, saith the Lord, and not a God afar off? 24 Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the Lord. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the Lord.
Chief Apostle Gunn said we give God joy when we call on his name and acknowledge him as FATHER.
We can be the generation that honors, praises, and brings him daily joy, starting with this 40 DAYS OF MORE PRAISE.
I hear the sweet voices of our toddler choir - Lydia, Daniel, Yoel, and Yireh - singing these lyrics by Ryan Ellis: “Let Your Praise ring louder, every day and every hour.”
One more note from a message Chief Apostle Gunn taught: Thank God before you see the evidence. It doesn’t cost you anything to believe or be grateful.

Please remember this month is our Spring Appreciation for our Pastor, without his labor we would not know the true value of our praise, according to the Word! Please send your seed of appreciation here.
