A Brand New Want To
Have you ever gotten to a place where you face the fact that you've broken your vows to God?
I listened to a recording from a service from 5 years ago that is full of the anointing of Nehemiah (a book that tells the story of men who helped people rededicate to God).
This Saturday, on FORREAL Radio Broadcast, Chief Apostle H.C. Gunn talked about Nehemiah 8, which says “the ears of the people were attentive to the Word” and repented. If you want to return to being attentive to God, read notes below from a message Chief Apostle Gunn preached June 25, 2019: A BRAND NEW WANT TO! Scripture: Psalm 17.
Sometimes the devil tries to steal joy/praise with circumstances, but God never told us we have to feel like what it looks like or commanded us to worry. He sent faith to help us make it through "this," because there is an "after this!"
Why go home from church lame (the same way and without the ability to walk upright)? Take the teaching, go home with a try.
Don’t settle for despair. When you wash before God, make up your mind to come out and say, "Lord, take me out of the pit of despair!
Remember the story of Joe Joe the goat? He fell into a pit. It seemed hope was lost. The farmer gave up and began to bury him with dirt. But the goat began to shake the dirt off. As it came off, he would step on top of it until he got higher and could get free. The dirt represents sins/failures. We have to decide to shake them off, step up, and live for God. And when things don’t seem to be falling off, go back to God and his Word again.
In the worst place you have been, God can still use your faith. If you continue, it won’t be long until he comes and refines you. Refining = removing the impure/unwanted.
All of us may be going through, but what happened to you happened too late because God already happened.
Chief Apostle Gunn said he made a vow to the Lord called: REBUILDING THE WALLS. He told God he broke vows to him before, but he's coming back again. (In Nehemiah, rebuilding the walls can represent: coming back under God's jurisdiction, resisting the enemy, moving forward from sin/failure into recommitment with God.)
It should grieve you when you sin, but nothing that we fail at can’t stop us if we confess our sins. His Word promises us that he's faithful to forgive if we sincerely repent. Confession means to agree with God about sin. Say: Lord, what I thought, did, felt, and where I blamed is wrong.
You may have gotten things right 1 out of 1,000, but it’s about having a brand new want to: REBUILDING THE WALL to live for God. You have to be willing to go forward no matter how much mess you made.
