Break the Curse: The Watch Letter
He answereth and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath meat, let him do likewise. (Luke 3:11)
Through various messages and messengers at The Body of Christ, the Lord has been bringing to our attention the story of the lepers, who were the first to find out that God sent provision to the people in the midst of famine. (Read 2 Kings 6-7.)
"And when these lepers came to the uttermost part of the camp, they went into one tent, and did eat and drink, and carried thence silver, and gold, and raiment, and went and hid it; and came again, and entered into another tent, and carried thence also, and went and hid it. Then they said one to another, We do not well: this day is a day of good tidings, and we hold our peace: if we tarry till the morning light, some mischief will come upon us: now therefore come, that we may go and tell the king's household."
What caught my attention was that God sent relief and deliverance from the famine. But without the lepers deciding to not be selfish, deciding to speak up or testify, and being willing to give what they had access to, to others, the people would not have known the famine was broken.
Whose famine are we not breaking because we won’t testify or won’t give?
What if the famine in our own lives is waiting to be broken by our testimony and our giving?
Testifying and sowing are both products of sharing. And they both have the power to encourage someone and to edify the church. Not only does testifying and sowing help someone else, but it also helps us forget about ourselves and remember God.
Sharing is a curse-breaker.
Revelation 12:11 says we overcome the devil by the word of our testimony.
Isaiah 58:6–8 says when we give, we lose chains, break yokes, free the oppressed, break forth light in the darkness, cause healing to spring forth, and invite the glory of the Lord to protect us.
When we hold back our testimony and hold back on giving to others, we are robbing God of his glory. In the Bible, everyone who stole from God or the people of God fell under a curse and fell to their deaths. If the lepers had not done something different, they would have died. But God could use them to break the curse of the famine because they had been in a condition that caused them to humble themselves. They came to themselves, became grateful, and although they had been left out in society, they chose not to leave others out by testifying and sharing what they had discovered.
At this very moment, we can choose to be curse-breakers.
Today, Chief Apostle H.C. Gunn sent out a message to the saints that said, "AT THIS TIME, GOD IS USING GIVING."
Think about what happens when a seed is sown into the ground in farming/gardening. After a while, the seed grows strong enough to break through the soil, and abundance springs forth.
Last week, Chief Apostle Gunn showed us that when our fists and lips are too tight, we can hold back God’s word, direction and blessing from being poured out. How can God pour into something that is closed?
He said if we choose to do as the lepers did, we can position ourselves at the gate of blessing if we allow God to take the situation we are in, take what we have, and use it to provide for the saints.
In those times, the lepers were treated like a curse, and they probably would never have been able to get past the gate of the city or into the king's court because of their disease and uncleanness, but because they chose to share, they walked right out of that curse and into the blessing.

Now Apostle Kanya, that was an awesome way to reiterate the word of giving that has been taught by Chief Apostle Gunn for so many years!!!! Too many times, I sat on testimonies that could have helped others come out of what they were in or serve as added hope...It took power and forgiveness (they didn't allow how they were treated by the people to keep them from doing the right thing) for the lepers to come to their senses after finding such a great spoil...Thankful for the testimony of the lepers!!!! Be encouraged & know that you are helping to do a great work for the kingdom of God!!!!❤️
