By Now!
The other morning the old song came to me: “If you don’t know me by now, you’ll never, never, never know me.”
Yes, it’s a worldly song from our pasts, but God will use whatever he chooses to make his point or get our attention.
When the song came, I knew what God was saying: What else can I do to convince people that I am the one true God? ….That all power is in my hand. That I know what’s best for you! ….That I will not allow you or anything to stop my will. That all of your answers are in me! …. That I am the way - the only way. …. That nothing works without me. And that it is I who is speaking and moving through my true prophets and my anointed shepherds. When will you listen? When will you bow? If not now, then when? You should have BY NOW.
For those of us who attend The Body of Christ, Inc…. God is saying: What else can I do to show you that Chief Apostle Gunn is my anointed and appointed prophet and teacher for this moment and you must hear me through him?
If you noticed, I used the word attend. Because those who are true dedicated members of The Body of Christ will recognize the power of God working in our pastor. But those who are just taking up space on a pew - do not, because when you recognize the power of God in someone: you listen to them, you respect them, you don’t undermine them, you support them, you pray for them, you encourage them.
Last Sunday, the Lord himself told us he was sitting in the pulpit with our pastor. That he was there to back him up and stand up for him. And the power of God was so strong that people repented, and some got delivered, and were moved to sincere tears. However, others are still refusing to humble themselves and listen to the word sent from God through the pastor.
Our pastor is humble. He does not brag on himself, he does not pretend to know everything and he does not want recognition, glory or money and fame.
He just wants us to be truly saved according to God’s standards and to know how to live consistently with and for God, and to treat people right. But, when that kind of teaching conflicts with the plans some of us have for own lives, we rebel instead of humbling ourselves and asking ourselves why would I not want to be instructed on how to live for God? Why would I think my way is better than God’s or better than what the pastor he appointed is teaching me?
What if last Sunday was the line in the sand? What if God is saying that after all of this, if you don’t humble yourself before me then you never will know me. God has kept our whole church body and family from storms, calamity and from COVID. We have never had any one with the virus, because God promised to protect us and we have never stopped having in-person services. (PS. The Lord told our pastor months ago and reminded us recently that COVID is not over. Get vaccinated and wear your masks and wash your hands. Do it for love. Do it for family and others. Do it for God. The Lord told our pastor earlier in the year, that other pandemics/epidemics are coming, even concerning the eye. He told him years ago, America will lose its defense, become like the Wild Wild West, and become like a third-world nation if it doesn’t repent.)
And over the recent decades of our church, we have never had a funeral. No one has died from accidents or sickness in the body. People in our body have been delivered from all manner of illness, demonic activity, financial trouble, legal trouble, familial trouble, abuses, rebellion and of course sin, yet some STILL refuse to humble themselves - even after all the miracles and wonders we have witnessed with our own eyes. (One of our children died in the hospital and God brought them back to life because he promised no death for those who belong to him.)
The Lord has had laws changed that positively impacted some of us. The Lord has had people and companies pay off our debts and bills out of nowhere. The Lord has had some people’s past criminal backgrounds overturned and overlooked. The Lord has allowed us to buy new vehicles and get new homes even with bad credit. The Lord has restored marriages and has healed our bodies from possible lifelong conditions. The Lord has created career opportunities out of nothing. Literally they have fallen from the sky. He has saved our children from backslidden states. One of our ministers is only 18! The Lord has had storms pass over us and other disasters. He has kept us without harm from car accidents and possible shootings. I could go on and on… but the Lord can speak for himself!
I will say this: I have learned that it is better to know God through obedience and relationship, then to know God through his wrath and mighty sword. I thank God for our leader, Chief Apostle HC Gunn, for teaching us the difference. So, I will leave you with this:
Matthew 10:
28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
29 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.
30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
31 Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.
32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.
40 He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.
41 He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward.
42 And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.
