Calling on your witness

Call your next witness!

In a court of law, a witness is a person who gives a testimony or whose words help to serve as evidence.

As people who are saved and committed to God, we are called to be faithful witnesses of Christ and his word. We are supposed to be a living, breathing, walking testimony and evidence of God’s grace, power, love, holiness, and more.

What kind of witness do you have?

Today, Chief Apostle H.C. Gunn called all the saints within our church body to pray. He said it was a spiritual emergency and that the keyword word was WITNESS.

What if God is calling us to the witness stand? What if he is examining our testimony. Not the ones we get up a say religiously on Sundays, but the way we live our lives ....The way we act at home, at work, around friends, and family. ...The way we act on the inside when we think no one sees us? (Which is ridiculous because God hears and sees everything.)

How are the decisions we are making witnessing Christ? Can the people/children who live with us see Christ in us? Can people who we see at church see Christ in us if they saw us during the week? Can our co-workers and other people we have relationships with see Christ in us in our daily interactions. Are we willing to back up the Word of God? Are we willing to back up the man of God? Or does everything we say or do come out contrary to that.

If our life is a testimony, does how we live draw others toward God or away from God because they see us as hypocrites or insincere or compromising?

We can cause others to sin or stumble because of our failure to be a faithful witness, just like a court’s witness can cause someone to be set free or sent to jail.

Whose blood will be on our hands because of our failed witness?

Earlier this week, Apostle Angel Lewis shared this, which God placed on her heart, with members of our church group: "Ohhh Witnesses where are you? Wisdom is crying out in the streets, but who will listen and who will answer God in the form of Wisdom? He says, witness! Be an example of Christ at home, on your job, wherever you go and no matter who you are with or without. Wisdom is calling The Witnesses.... do you hear Him?" It is a blessing how God dealt throughout the body with this keyword. When I started to think on what needed to be posted today -- it was heavy that the combination of what Chief Apostle, Apostle Angel and others have been sharing this week was all about God's urgent call for us to get back on the stand of life with our witness.

It’s time for us all to realize that our life is not our own and we will be held accountable for how we live. We cannot just live unto ourselves, we must live in a way that represents the one we were made in the image of — God.

19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

Matthew 5:16

16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

This ties into tomorrow’s radio broadcast message: Make it Personal. Available online here: https://www.thebodyofchristinc.com/listen-in and also the message posted today by Pastor Amaya on the Youth Blog: Fix Your Broken Relationship with God: https://www.thebodyofchristinc.com/news/fix-your-broken-relationship-with-god.

We've got work to do!

If you have benefitted from the labor of the ministry of Chief Apostle Gunn and The Body of Christ, we encourage you to sow a seed on good ground and support our efforts to ensure more people receive the living word of God. Thank you.
