Choose Now: An Uncorrupted Life or a Corrupted World

If God created the world, how could he tell us not to love it? If he created the world, why would he flood it during the time of Noah?

There are no if's about God's Word and his creative power, but just in case you need to know for yourself, the answer is right before our eyes: God did not create the “world” to exist as we know it.

Genesis 1: Verse 1: In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth……. Verse 31: And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.

So, when sin began to overtake the beautiful, pure earth the Lord created, because of mankind's choices, the Word tells us in Genesis 6:12-13: “And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.”

So, how did things get so bad that God had to send destruction to remove corruption? Mankind stopped caring about offending and grieving God. Yes, God will allow destruction in your life to stop the corruption. But woe unto those who choose to remain unrepented/unchanged after God's chastisement (which is always an act of his love).

After Adam and Eve were removed from the Garden of Eden, did they try to repent? Did they cry out because of the hurt and disrespect they caused? Did they recommit their lives to him? Did they reflect on what they did and make every effort not to do it again? The Bible does not show that we can answer these questions with a yes. In fact, it just says that after they had sons and daughters Adam lived hundreds of years and died. No mention of a walk with God or repentance.

And as our pastor, Chief Apostle H.C. Gunn, has been teaching us at The Body of Christ, Inc., the reason why our lives are still corrupted -- even after being saved -- is that we stopped being grieved or concerned about offending God, just like Adam and Eve did and the generations that came after them that disappointed God did during the time of Noah.

Chief Apostle Gunn said recently: Unless you turn away from sin, you will always be lost. So even though God can see everything, he won’t be able to find you, and you will remain out of the will --- even if you’ve decided to be saved, you can still be out of his presence because you didn’t decide to give up sin. It is demonstrated in the following verse: “Then the man and his wife heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the breeze of the day, and they hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden. But the LORD God called out to the man, ‘Where are you?’ 'I heard Your voice in the garden,' he replied, 'and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid myself. '“ - Genesis 3: 8-10

It was their corruption that caused them to hide themselves and their unbelief that caused them to sin. They did not take God at his Word. They didn’t believe that he would issue consequences for their actions nor believe he would take care of them as he promised, nor believe that what God prepared for them was good enough, or else they wouldn’t have accepted the sin the devil was offering. And from that sin, such things as lying, pride, hate, unwillingness, lust, whoring, idolatry, greed, gluttony, slothfulness, selfishness, deceit, murder, homosexuality, stealing, envy, violence, abuse, and so much more entered into the earth.

Chief Apostle Gunn explained that a desire to sin or willing sin blocks you from truly believing in God. So you may think you are saved, living right or in his will, but if sin is lurking in the corners and spider webs of your life, you are just as far away from God as Adam and Eve were, even though he was right there in the Garden with them. Chief Apostle Gunn also showed us how the webs and weights of sin will become chains and keep us bound - if we remain unrepented.

During this weekend’s FORREAL RADIO BROADCAST, Chief Apostle Gunn taught us that when sin entered the earth, everything was corrupted. The people, sky, land, animals, ocean, and even under the ocean are now corrupted. So the perfect earth God created became a corrupted world because of sin.

Let’s look at what corrupted means:

  1. change, debase, alter from the original or correct form or version

  2. cause to become morally depraved

  3. to degrade, contaminate, taint, destroy

  4. to change from good to bad in morals, manners, or actions

So, this begs to question: Is the life we are living today God’s original intent for us, or is it corrupted and altered because of our sin? Are we living in God’s earth or in a world created by sin? Because the Bible tells us: all of us have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory, we know we are living or have lived a corrupted life. And will miss the mark every time without repentance and without staying in God’s will by rejecting sin and the fallen nature. It’s time for us to make a decision today, do we want to dwell in a corrupted world or live in God’s kingdom on earth (so we can be with him in his eternal kingdom)?

1 John 2:15-18: "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever."

John 18:36: "Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world...."

Think of it like this, if you had a chance to choose to drive a rusted-out car with a hole in the roof or a new car that had no damage, which would you choose? Or if you had an opportunity to live in a house with termites eating away at its walls or a newly built house that had a strong foundation and sturdy walls, which would you choose? Would you be so desperate to have a car or house that you would take those corrupted things when God is saying but I had something new for you, all you had to do is wait, repent and come unto me?

No one who truly loved themselves or their families would purposely choose to live in decay and chaos if they had a better option, so why choose to have a life full of destruction and corruption when God has better for us? Sin removes us from God’s presence and separates us from him, so any life without God is a life of destruction and corruption.

Even in this sinful world, God is telling us through his Word that it is possible to live an uncorrupted life in a corrupted world. We do not have to live as others do. We do not have to think and believe as others do. We do not have to participate in what others do. And we do not have to follow our corrupted thoughts, feelings, emotions, desires and habits, or the ways of our bloodlines. We can choose to be the difference through repentance. The Word tells us we can:

“Come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.” - 2 Corinthians 6:17

Don't you want to see the life God really wanted us to have? Don't you want to see what the earth is really supposed to be like? Only a repented soul will.
