Go Back to the Instruction - The Watch Letter

-The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.

-The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.

-The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.

-More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

-Moreover, by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.

(Psalm 19:7-11)

Chief Apostle H.C. Gunn has always taught us to be sure to follow through with the last Godly instruction we received to:

-Know what steps to take in our lives.

-Know how to please the Lord.

-And have wisdom to make sound and holy decisions.

He has also taught us to rehearse what God has already spoken over us, what he has already done for us, and what counsel – through our leader – God has already provided us.

We keep saying we want spiritual growth, wisdom, joy, clarity, vision, endurance, purity, blessing, and God's reward, but the reasons we can't seem to fully reach any of these things is we aren't believing the first part of each sentence in Psalm 19:7-11. Psalm 19 tells us boldly that God's law, his testimony, his kingship, his instruction, and judgements are pure, sure, perfect, wise, enlightening, cleansing, and invaluable. But we must believe that, pursue that and not just think of them as mere words in a book.

So, that is what I believe the Lord wanted to show me today in the situations I am facing and wants me to share with everyone else so we can be free, be sound and be settled. It is urgent that we go back over the word, instruction, correction, and encouragement that has already been given to us.

Today, God put on my mind to go back almost a year over messages, notes or instructions I could find from Chief Apostle Gunn as a prophet of God, pastor, faithful counselor, and father. It refreshed me, strengthened me, and helped me to remember what God has said and what he gave his prophet to help me. And now, I am going to take all those things before God and examine where I need to:

-Go back, follow, and do what was said.

-Believe, receive, and declare what was promised.

-Obey and hold on to what was instructed or prophesied.

The word of God is alive and still is God's breath into our lives. It will not return unto him void, but we’ve got to choose to resuscitate what we have suffocated by going back and applying it, taking it seriously and taking it to heart. Don't let it dry up, don't let it get choked out of you, don't let it fall to the wayside.

I saw where I wrote down Isaiah 30 last year, and it applies to what is going on in the atmosphere today.

“Woe to the rebellious children, saith the Lord, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin: That walk to go down into Egypt and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt! Therefore, shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.”

We would rather listen to the words of the world, take on the spirit of the world, and live a life of shame and confusion than receive what God has spoken from his mouth to the pastor/prophet’s ears and from the pastor/prophet's mouth to our ears. Woe unto us.

Some years ago, God told Chief Apostle Gunn that he was preparing a place for him and his companion in Stanly (also spelled Stanley), California. What if Chief Apostle Gunn ignored it, rejected God’s call because none of us had ever heard of such a place, etc.? But after more prayer, waiting, revelation from God, and some research, we found the place and indeed as the Lord spoke construction and growth have been happening there and a place is being prepared.

The Lord promised Chief Apostle Gunn that many lives would be changed because of the ministry that God has called him to do in Stanly, and God promised blessing and healing there for Chief Apostle Gunn and his family because of his willingness to believe God at his word and seek out the place called Stanly. As I write this, Chief Apostle Gunn and his wife Apostle Felicia are preparing to head back from a trip to Stanly, where God allowed them to see the promised land that they will soon return to, to begin the work God has already set in motion. God wants to do the same thing and bring his word to pass for everyone reading this blog. What we must do is take him at his word, follow through with it, and forsake all that is contrary to it.

I read something Chief Apostle Gunn asked in December 2022: "What is God trying to get you to hear?" That ties into something I found that Chief Apostle Gunn instructed me on last year. He said, "God's way is the right way. Unbusy yourself so that you can hear the direction God is given you. Unclutter your mind by faith." This reminds me of Romans 10:17. And it reminds me of Isaiah 30. I’m going after the revival of instruction and God’s word in my life. Join me!
