Hot and Holy: The Watch Letter

On this weekend’s FORREAL RADIO BROADCAST with Chief Apostle H.C. Gunn, the message was titled: “Hot & Holy.” Chief Apostle Gunn said the Lord was talking to the church of this modern world -- those that profess to serve and follow God -- but seek after things, after amusement, after entertainment, and after having our way but have no true dedication, no true sanctification, no true love for God, nor true love for salvation.

The message was inspired by Revelation 3:14-22. So often, we can find ourselves dismissing what God wrote in the Bible because it is thousands of years old. But we must not forget that God’s word is living and always current no matter how long ago it was written. Knowing that alone should leave us in awe of God's power.

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness….” 2 Timothy 3:16

“ ...With the Lord, a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness.” 2 Peter 3:8-9

In a time when so many pastors, ministers, and "social media influencers," are watering down the Word of God or trying to reshape it to fit their mold, I thank God that we have a leader at The Body of Christ, who teaches us to respect, acknowledge and receive God’s word as it is given and revealed. We are well-taught, but it is up to us to make up our minds to be fully surrendered to the Lord.

On the broadcast, the Lord was saying to us that what he corrected the Laodiceans about is what he is correcting us “saved, church folks” about right now at this very moment.

“Because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth,” says the Lord in Revelation 3.

God does not lie, so since he is talking about lukewarmness through Chief Apostle Gunn, then we are guilty as charged.

Think of it like this: If you ordered hot coffee and it came back almost cool you would be displeased, especially on a cold or rainy day, when you needed to feel that warmth. If you ordered fresh fries from your favorite fast food restaurant and they were cold and hard and caused you to lose your appetite, you would want to return them.

So, why do we expect God to ignore or accept our lukewarmness? So, often we want God to accept anything from us but we want him to give us his best. When it comes to us, for example, what we consume, we are very particular about what we like and don’t like -- what we will accept and not accept. But we, including myself, have acted like the King of the Universe, the Creator of Heaven and Earth, is supposed to accept our coldness or lukewarmness when he is expecting hot food! Is it because we love ourselves and the things of this world more than we love God and our salvation?

Lukewarmness is another word for unholiness. There is no in-between for holiness. You are either holy or unholy.

“Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.” 1 Peter 1:13-16

And that is what the “Hot & Holy” broadcast message was about. If anything we are saying, doing, thinking, feeling, believing, allowing, omitting, etc., does not please God or line up with His Word and His Way, it is unholy.

The message was an indictment to all who say they belong to God but are not meeting His requirements. I'm turning myself in.

Chief Apostle Gunn said, “It’s very critical. We have a responsibility to say: God, I am not what I see in the scripture.” He said we are supposed to be bothered when we see ourselves not living like God’s Word says to live. But we become so complacent and comfortable with lukewarmness that it doesn’t bother us anymore.

Through the message, I saw many places where I have been operating in lukewarmness, a.k.a. unholiness. But the blessing is we serve a God who will not let us be ignorant. He will make us aware of where we are disappointing him and operating in sin, and give us a chance to change. As Chief Apostle Gunn always reminds us: That’s what a good father does -- corrects those who he loves.

In Revelation 3, God said: “As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.”

We had multiple technical and other issues getting the “Hot & Holy” broadcast message online on our website. The message was fought because the enemy does NOT want us to hear the Word that can move us out of a defiled, unsanctified, complacent, and unsavory life before God into a life that is pure, holy, pleasing, and savory to God. But nothing can stop the Word of God from coming forth, it is like an arrow that never misses its target! So, I encourage you to let nothing stop you, including your flesh, your agenda, and your thoughts, from listening to this message.

Listen to Hot & Holy below NOW. I believe God just placed on my heart to say, just like Krispy Kreme he wants to see our light and our sign on every day that says "HOT NOW!"

Love,

Apostle Kanya

Amen Apostle Kanya & thank you for the examples that were used...the examples are relatable & leave no room for misunderstanding. Hot & Holy is truly a message to bring the church back to the original plan of God & it was sent out to get us to a purified state to be used by God to get those that have been lost too long because of the church looking like the world. Thank you & continue to be encouraged and stay open to God!!!! ❤️
