HOW YOU LIVE IS HOW YOU DIE - The Watch Letter

"And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom." -Luke 16:23

On Oct. 11, early in the morning, the Lord gave our Pastor, Chief Apostle H.C. Gunn, a message to share with the Body of Christ: HOW YOU LIVE IS HOW YOU DIE!

Our Pastor has always taught us that if you live in rebellion and choose not to live a holy life, in complete surrender to the Lord, you will find yourself in hell, no matter what you have accomplished. And in hell, there is torment. The devil and his demons torture those that are there by forcing them to do the same thing repeatedly that they wouldn't stop doing on Earth.

It's one thing to sin or rebel willingly, but imagine if you were forced to do that sin or rebellious act over and over again -- all day long -- day in and day out, and could never stop no matter how sorry or tired you were?

People in hell wish they could warn those of us living to turn back from our ways and sins because they didn't take the realness of hell seriously nor the Word that warns of the eternal torment to be faced.

Luke says:

In verse 26, Luke writes: "And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence."

Hell is reserved for evil and sinners. Sin represents separation from God. When we choose to sin, we choose to have a gulf between us and God.

Jesus bled on the cross for the remission of our sins, and he removed the partition between us and God because of our fallen nature by inviting us to choose to live a life of holiness. Holiness brings us close to God because he says, "Be holy, for I am holy," and we were made in his image. Holiness represents separation from sin and the pattern of this world.

Have you ever wondered why it is so hard for us to maintain a life of holiness? I have. And it's not supposed to be hard, as Jesus said in the Word: His yoke is easy, and his burden is light. During our special daytime service, I believe the Lord revealed the answer through Chief Apostle Gunn this past Wednesday.

He said that gratitude and holiness are twins. To be holy is to hate sin overall, hate the sin we have done, and choose to turn from our sin/ ways/patterns toward the Lord and his ways and the pattern he has set for our lives in his Word.

If you have an ungrateful heart toward God, you will not want to please him in how you live. You won't care how he feels, what he sees, or what he thinks when he looks at your life. But when we take time to think about what God has done for us -- he gave us breath and life, he has provided food, air, resources, and most of all, he sent Jesus, his only begotten son, to stand in the gap and bear the cross that belonged to us -- we would realize we owe God everything. And when we really let that settle in, we would not want to do anything to disrespect him, disobey him, disappoint him, or disregard him.

Last Sunday, Chief Apostle Gunn said the Lord showed him that more death is coming unto the Earth. The wars we are seeing now are just the beginning. The Lord showed him a leopard and lion representing two countries that would play roles in inflicting more death on the Earth. No matter how young we are, how good of a heart we think we have, or how much kindness we feel we have shown over our life, we are not exempt from hell less we repent and pursue holiness. Think about how many serial killers held the door open for an elderly person, donated to a charity or even went to church every Sunday. We have to ask ourselves what makes us so different from them.

We must realize that when we die, our account is settled right then, and the record stands. Whoever we were on Earth is who we will be eternally- in Heaven or hell.

The world has tried to make hell acceptable, fun, unrealistic, and "not that bad" through entertainment. Several scriptures point to satan once being a musician, so why wouldn't he use entertainment to convince us to join him in hell? Remember: The devil does not and cannot love anyone; he hates everything God made and wants to torture and destroy God's creation - including you.

1 Peter 5:8

"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:"

You can repent right now! Call out to the Lord sincerely, choose holiness and a life of gratitude toward God. If you need help or prayer, contact us here. We want to meet you in Heaven!
