It Won't Work: The Watch Letter

No weapon formed against you shall prosper...even if that weapon is/comes from you.

When we choose to do things against God's will, we are fighting against ourselves, so those plans we have made have become weapons against ourselves. But they won't work. God is not a liar. Since he promised nothing formed against us will prosper, he will do everything in his power to stop the sorry plans we make that will harm us. That's what a good Father does.

Chief Apostle H.C. Gunn has often taught us that we give too much credit to the devil. When things go wrong we automatically say it's satan, but most times it's us getting in our own way and giving place to the devil. Why? Because we chose to live life without acknowledging God in all we do -- and the devil is sitting back enjoying the show.

Last month, Chief Apostle Gunn preached on the radio broadcast a message titled: "Seek God." Today, I want to focus on specific parts of that message. Scripture reference: Jeremiah 33.

Chief Apostle Gunn said: "If God did not say it, it’s not going to work."

The more we keep doing things our way, the more our plans will fail. The fallen nature, our flesh, is wicked without God. If we do not acknowledge and seek him in all of our ways, then it seems that we are always going to be making choices with a wicked mindset.

Chief Apostle Gunn read from Isaiah 55. In summary, it says: Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts and God will return to you.

He said: "Don’t be a person that continues to do what you want to do and come and go as you please, no matter how you're helped and advised and corrected. I’m the weakest person I know. I’m not strong enough to go out and do things on my own. But in following God I’m strong."

That's why the Word says: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

He also said: "Set your affection on things above (the things of God) and stop promoting self. Your destiny is to put God first."

He said: "We are denying God and acting like he does not exist (by how we choose to live)." "There are things we go back and forth doing every day, but we’re not seeking and serving God every day. Pray thy kingdom YOUR will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. We want everything but God."

"Seek ye first the kingdom of God. Set and reset your affections on God and His Kingdom every day, because affections shift."

As I wrote this, I am reminded of the song we sing at The Body of Christ. "Let it be you.... in every decision, every choice I make."
