STOMP ON THE DEVIL'S HEAD - The Watch Letter
In Genesis 1:26, we see that Adam and Eve were made in the image of God. Yet, even knowing they were made in the image of the most high God, they were tempted by wanting something they already had. Chief Apostle H.C. Gunn preached this earlier this month, and it's very sobering! God bringing this message back up is helping me through some things right now!
The serpent deceived Adam and Eve into giving up the blessing they already had in exchange for a lie, and often we have been too. In other words, mankind has fallen for "the okey-doke."
For instance: To this day, we act with the mindset of Adam and Eve. We will let everything around us convince us that we are alone, lonely, and have no support. Then, we go after things to fill that false void. Because we fail to realize God has been there the whole time, and we have never been alone since the foundations of the world. Yet, the devil, our fallen nature, thoughts, and emotions will try to convince us opposite the truth.
Joshua 1:9: "Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."
How many times have we wanted the green grass on the other side, failing to realize that our grass was already green and that our Father in Heaven created the grass?
How often have we left God to pursue riches, advancement, and status? Because we've failed to see that we are already wealthy, elevated, and royal in spirit through God, our Father, and the King of the universe!
Romans 11:36: "For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things."
Chief Apostle Gunn also taught us recently that we must never forget God's original intention for us. He purposed Adam and Eve to have dominion over the Earth. God gave them charge over his entire creation as his son and daughter (Genesis 1:28). Yet, they let a creature with no authority on the Earth -- that they were designed to dominate -- dominate them with lies.
Chief Apostle Gunn said this is how much power and dominion they had: Whatever Adam called every beast of the field, every cattle, and every fowl of the air was what they became and still are to this day. So, it was obvious that God had already supplied them with wisdom, intelligence, and knowledge above all creatures. Yet, they let a snake convince them to lust after fruit from a tree to gain knowledge and awareness when they had already received SUPER GENIUS from the creator of that very fruit. (Genesis 3:19)
God's calling us to take back that dominion and the image he gave us in the Garden! Chief Apostle Gunn has been saying for weeks now that the Lord was calling us to stop the beast in our lives and our homes.
Adam and Eve had the power to stop the beast by not believing the serpent's lies and declaring and standing on the truth of what God told them. He said Adam and Eve wanted to be like God but believed the devil's lie and failed to realize they were already like him.
We can stop the beast! We can stop him by remembering what God has already done! We can stop him by arming ourselves with the knowledge of God by genuinely studying, applying, and believing his word. We no longer have to continue the tradition of giving our dominion and the image we were made in away.
If God gave humanity dominion over the Earth, then indeed, he has given us dominion over our thoughts, ways, patterns, emotions, desires, attitudes, history, and even genetics.
Adam and Eve were taught by God himself in the Garden. And we are blessed that God used his prophets and apostles to take what he has taught from the beginning of time and put it on paper. Chief Apostle Gunn said that we are not only blessed to hear our victory when the word is preached (because faith comes by hearing) but that we can read our victory for ourselves.
We can read things like:
Romans 6:14 - For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
Luke 10:19 - Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
1 John 4:4 - Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
1 John 5:4 - For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
We often talk about what we need or come to God with what we need, but Chief Apostle Gunn said: WHAT WE NEED …. IS TO READ! We need to read the Word of God. We need to read the instructions. It contains everything we need to know about who God made us to be. Adam and Eve didn't have to read because they had the author of everything right there with them, teaching them every step of the way. Just imagine if they would have followed his instructions!
This blog post is dedicated to my niece, Jennifer. She got saved on her 16th birthday (this month). She is a witness of what the Lord promised Chief Apostle Gunn - that there would be a revival and saving of the youth in our body and worldwide. I am so proud and grateful. She has not been ashamed of her surrender to God and her decision to stop believing the devil's lies. And she is just as bold today as she was when she was a little bitty girl singing her favorite song, "STOMP ON THE DEVIL'S HEAD."
