The Death of America
Several weeks have passed since President Donald Trump was diagnosed with COVID-19, and has since recovered. It was that same week, in fact, two days prior to this news, that Chief Apostle Gunn was in prayer when God spoke these words, “The Death of America," which was the inspiration for recording the broadcast message that I am recapping with you today.
While the president has done some disappointing things toward God and to the people of this nation, just as those before him, our pastor has encouraged us to pray for his healing and deliverance and that of this nation. Because no matter who is in the office, if God is not the head and involved, then this nation will never truly prosper spiritually (which is more important than economically).
2 Chronicles 7:14: If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Before we get started, it is important to note that Chief Apostle Gunn has also reminded us of the many prophecies God has shared with his people in past years about America and the Statue of Liberty falling to its knees, the country splitting apart, storms coming to destroy the South, catastrophes coming to destroy the West, and more. Sometimes, we think it could take hundreds of years for God's Word to come to pass, but the time is now and we must look inwardly to see how we got here as a nation.
Chief Apostle began the broadcast message with prayer, as he usually does, and he referenced Genesis 2:15-17, which states:
15 And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
In the beginning, mankind was given a place by God to dwell in safety where all needs were met, in complete fellowship with God. In chapter 5 of Genesis, Adam had lived over 900 years, but he already had died. By disobeying the instructions he was given, Adam died to God. Can you imagine spending hundreds of years walking the earth but dead to God? It's such a lonely, empty and dark place to be in when a person cannot fellowship with the Creator because of wrong decisions, sin, disobedience, and a lack of repentance.
Chief said “America is dead to God" --- although people call America a Christian nation, that doesn’t make it one. God is not a liar, and disobedience has the consequence of death. As Chief Apostle continued the message, he explained that such things as slavery in America, injustice, murder, and all the wars that have taken place are due to fear and not following the Word. He has also taught us that fear is a result of sin. When you live Holy before God you don't have the spirit of fear, you have boldness in Christ.
To the naked eye, Adam (and even America) may not have looked dead, but was according to the Word. God said “thou shalt surely die.” Next, Chief Apostle discussed the story of Noah. He said Noah was a man interested in speaking to God, and God therefore spoke to him. Up until Noah’s time, the wickedness was so great in the earth that God was about to end the world.
Why was Noah saved? We know the story ... it was more than just the Ark. It was because he was not dead to God. Being alive to God can save your family, as it did Noah’s. For all we know, the world at that time of the flood could have been filled with, as Chief Apostle Gunn put it, “500,000 people.” Yet, only eight were saved because of Noah’s obedience and willingness to listen, and do what pleased God and not himself.
As the broadcast progressed, Chief spoke about yet another point in history where in Sodom the men of the city surrounded Lot’s door burning with lust and demanding that he send his visitors out so that they could rape the men. These men were not natural men that went into Lot’s house. They were angels sent by God because Abraham prayed and asked God to spare not just Lot, but the city. Yet only Lot and his daughter were spared. This shows a running theme of disobedience, which is sin.
Sin causes spiritual death and natural death. While Lot, his wife, and daughters fled, Sodom and Gomorrah were burning behind them as God judged the cities. The spiritual death was his wife's disobedience in looking back, as if what she left behind was worth more than moving forward with God. The natural death came when she turned into a pillar of salt.
Chief Apostle called these actions of the men in Sodom “filthy," and the Word says:
“Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.” - Leviticus 18:22
Chief shared that these same actions and disobedience in Sodom are pushed heavily in politics, even to the point of accepting and agreeing with wrong to make it into the White House as president. He said that people today will call “evil good, and good evil.”
As previously mentioned, you don’t have to “look dead to the naked eye to be dead.” It shows us that when you are dead to God you will go along with anything.
It could be years of no repentance
It could be ignoring God’s warning because you don’t like who he sent it through, as it was in Noah’s case, and for us today it could sadly be the Pastor
It could be going along with homosexuality, lust, uncleanness, ungodliness, lasciviousness, and anything that God calls filthy all because the world says it’s okay and to get what you want.
With an election happening tomorrow (Nov. 3) to decide the next President of the United States, the Lord has spoken and he said: "America is Dead." The question is, are you? And how did you contribute to its death? Are you willing to repent and live again? Is America ready to turn back to God and live again?
Remember: Vote Jesus by asking him who to vote for. Although none of the candidates are ideal, we live in a dead nation, but you don’t have to be dead in it.
Chief has taught The Body of Christ through the word that the condition of the heart of the people dictates the leader. Let your condition say: "Today, I’m Alive To God!"
