The Time Has Come: The Watch Letter
Arm yourselves with the same mind of Jesus. He that suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin. (1 Peter 4:1)
Our mind is a powerful weapon against the enemy/sin. That is why the devil sends everything he can to distract/oppress our minds.
The mind is where our ability to choose lives and where the fleshy, fallen nature tries to rule. So, there is ongoing war in our minds, and we must be found on the winning side.
Jesus kept his mind stayed on pleasing God, obeying the word, saving souls, and did not let his feelings or pain rule – even down to the moments he hung on the cross. As the Son of God, Jesus still had a choice in his earthly body. He could have chosen to not go to the cross or run away from the hurt and humiliation, but his mind could not be overcome by the flesh/devil. God has given everyone free will through the choices we make.
During two messages in November 2019, Chief Apostle H.C. Gunn instructed us on what to do with our mindset. He showed us that the saints must clean up our homes/lives now! There’s too much outside influence and trash coming into what’s supposed to be a “saved” place. There’s too much we’re allowing into our minds and the minds of our kids.
Flesh, feelings, family traditions, habits, thoughts, bad ideas, wrong desires, selfish plans, and ungodly opinions have ruled us too long. But the TRUE ruler and judge (God) is on HIS throne.
For the time has come that judgement must begin in the house of God. (1 Peter 4:17)
Below are notes from the 2019 messages. Scripture: 2 Timothy 2.
• Don’t be feeling-based. Be spirit-based.
• Pray in the night season. If we pray, bondages/traps in our lives would break.
• Overcome feelings. We need to have power to overcome them, especially in these times.
• Feelings can destroy relationships with others and most of all God. That’s why we need faith.
• Being led by our feelings is like a rat that destroys everything.
• It’s our choice. Sin has no authority over us. The devil isn’t the high sheriff of our outcome.
• Don’t let the enemy deceive us into being sad/gloomy. It’s our choice to let God comfort us and not serve our feelings and sin.
• When our conscience is clear we can have full joy.
• First restore our relationship with God, before we try to restore anything else.
• Pray less about things and conditions, and more about surrendering to him. He will supply.
• We’re reaching for too many things instead of reaching for God. We’re inviting too many spirits into our lives and not Jesus, the Holy Ghost.
• Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child, but the rod of correction gets it out. (Time to grow up!)
• We trust, depend on everything/everyone but God and it shrinks us. But the way to grow up is trusting, relying, and depending on Him.
• We still hold on to the fallen mindset that leaves us stuck in a ditch. We must stop letting our fallen mind have input.
• The heart is deceitful. It will make you think you’re praising/worshiping God sincerely even though you don’t treat people right or look down on them.
• No thing, no feeling should be more important than your walk with God. Remember Jesus. Don’t forget him, what he endured on the cross, and how he rose from the dead.
• It’s time to get out of ourselves and our thinking. Even our thoughts will be judged by God. We must deal with our mind. Thoughts can take us a long way off.
• We must re-dedicate our lives to God every day. When we dedicate ourselves to God we must also deal with worry. When assaults come to our minds, we must resist. (When we worry, we’re not casting cares on Him like the word commands.)
• Don’t get caught up in this life. There’s too much business/busyness going on and too little God. Don’t be out of focus. Genuine prayer will bring you back to focus.
• What you feed on in the spirit is what you reproduce. How we live is how we die. You can’t do whatever you want, then want prayer/help later.
• People who struggle with lust most are those not willing to be accountable. The gap of unaccountability is how the enemy comes in. Humble yourself. Endure hardness.
• We’ve got to renew our minds. An un-renewed mind and sin comes through generations if you don’t stand against them.
• Immorality is dominating our children (a lot of this has been passed down from us). Sometimes it’s our remaining in sin that can hold a child back. Parents must stop pushing the wrong agenda on children.
