Unbind God’s Angels: The Watch Letter

During service on Jan. 1, 2020, Chief Apostle H.C. Gunn saw angels moving around. Read on to find out why.

Question: How aware are we of God & things of the Spirit happening around us?

So often, God can be sending Heaven to move on our behalf, but we can’t see it or fail to even care. We can be so caught up in the financial, relationship, entertainment, societal & information transactions happening in our lives, we rarely think about the spiritual.

In 2 Kings 6, Elisha’s servant was aware of men from the king’s army surrounding them. But what he was not aware of was the army of God surrounding/protecting them in the Spirit. He asked: how shall we do? Elisha replied: Fear not, for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. Then Elisha prayed to God to open the eyes of the servant; then he saw the mountain was full of God’s horses/chariots of fire.

For God to have released His army of angels into Elisha & his servant’s situation, there had to be a faith transaction. Faith causes us to overcome fear & so much more.

Side note: The enemy wants us to be distracted from tapping into the provisions God has made in the Spirit by dangling carrots in front of us that he knows we will chase. They keep us out of prayer, worship, studying, fasting, obeying God’s word & listening to the pastor. If we really want to experience what God has on standby waiting to help us, then we must find out what those carrots (weaknesses) are in our lives & let them go so we can focus, see & experience Him & the things of the Spirit.

I remember 15 years ago; I was spending time with God on the porch where I lived. I was newly saved & praying outside helped me feel closer to God. One day, I was sitting on the porch & Chief Apostle Gunn happened to pull in the driveway. He got out of his vehicle & told me he saw an angel with large wings wrapped around me. It opened my eyes to the work of God & His angels that happens even when we can’t see it yet.

Exodus 23:20: “Behold, I send an Angel before you to keep you in the way … to bring you into the place which I have prepared.“

So often, we’re trying to rig things up to make things work on our own to feel satisfied/secure. But we serve a God who can do much more & will command the Host of Heaven to operate on our behalf … yet we never invite him to do so.

The message from 2020 was called “Unbind My Angels.” The angels that Chief Apostle Gunn saw came after singing had started on the outside of church by the choir & continued inside. Sincere praise/worship filled the sanctuary & that was an invitation for Heaven to join in.

Here are some summary notes from what Chief Apostle shared.

• When we rejoice in praise/thanksgiving at home, church, in conversation with God/others, what takes place is a transaction with Heaven.

• When you’re singing sincerely to God it’s a faith transaction, but when you're singing for the world it’s a fear transaction.

• Clapping your hands because of the Word or participating in a song for God causes Him & his angels to move & make available to you what God wants you to have.

• The less you praise God, the less you will realize what he has planned for you. Praise opens the activity of the angels in your life.

• If you keep coming to church or living life with your Eeyore on, because things didn't go your way, you will never release the faith transaction that opens the door for God & His angels to move. (Eeyore is a character who always expected misfortune, lived in fear & was unmotivated, gloomy, depressed.)

• If you stay in your thoughts/feelings, you will never release the faith that God already put in you.

• When the Word comes, faith comes with it. Not listening to the Word & His messenger = not being filled with faith! (See: Hebrews 11:6)

• Chief Apostle Gunn shared a vision about my teenage niece, Zaida, when she was very young. He saw her non-stop praising & preaching. No matter what, she wouldn’t stop. Her transactions with God through praise/participating in the Word at a young age made her aware of Him. He said when you become aware of God, you are on the way to your deliverance/hope.

• Don’t let people fool you & say you don’t have to praise “that much” or that everybody is not the same when it comes to praise. If you sit there & be quiet, hold back rejoicing, you will not get the same results as someone who releases their faith in rejoicing. (Psalm 47:1)

• We shout, dance, celebrate everything else in the world but want to be quiet on God, His Word & His Spirit.

• When you let go of things God's calling you to let go, that is a faith transaction & God can move. But if you don’t let go, remember God’s angels can’t move when you're bitter or being tight with things (including money), because you're not letting God in. God could not save Judas because he would not let God in, instead he held on to money, which profited him nothing.

• Victories that were won by God against powerful armies came when people released their faith to God in the atmosphere. Moses held up his hands. Joshua & his army praised.
