Unbind My Angels .... And Let That Demon Go
Have you ever felt like things just weren’t changing? That your prayers weren’t being answered? That your blessings and healings were on pause?
We know that God doesn’t withhold the right things from those who truly love him.
We know that prayer and faith can move mountains.
We know that we are to bind in Jesus' name the devil and his demons and everything else that fights against God’s will.
So, how can things remain unchanged, unhealed, unblessed, and unanswered after God’s released his will in our lives, and after we have prayed and bound the enemy?
Maybe it’s because we have tied up God’s angels that have been assigned to minister his will in our lives.
I was going through one of my notebooks and found some notes from a message by our Pastor Chief Apostle H.C. Gunn in January 2020. During the message, he taught that the things we won’t let go of or give up often are ropes that bind up the angels God has released in our lives. So, it's not that the deliverance, protection, breakthrough, healing, understanding, answer, strengthening, and provision we prayed for didn’t happen or went unanswered, it could be that these things never reached us because we stopped the angels God released from getting to us.
You might wonder how could little ole' us stop a powerful angel from moving and completing their assignment? Well, it’s simple. We know that what we think, speak, and believe impacts things of the spirit. So, if we can stop the devil with our voice, our thoughts, and our faith then we can also bind the angels with those same things.
During that January 2020 message, Chief Apostle Gunn taught us that things like bitterness, unforgiveness, faithlessness, unwillingness, selfishness, arrogance, disobedience, etc. can hinder the angels from getting to us.
And the Bible backs it up. There is no question that Angels are sent to execute God’s response in our lives.
Earlier this week, the Lord gave Chief Apostle Gunn Exodus 23 for the church to study.
And one of the verses speaks to it.
Exodus 23
20 Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared
We also see how the Angels are released to minister to us in the following verses:
Hebrews 1:13 But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?
14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
Psalm 34:7 The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.
Luke 1:19: And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings.
Daniel 9:23: At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth, and I am come to shew thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision.
Psalm 91:11: For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.
Isaiah 63: 9: In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old.
Daniel 10:12: Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.
The book of Daniel tells us that angels are released by our prayers. So, what we need to look at is what the Bible says hinders our prayers because that is what hinders the angels. And sometimes God has angels - messengers- among us on earth. Angels can also represent ministers. Sometimes God has sent a word or help through our pastors and ministers but it is our unwillingness and how we conduct and carry ourselves that is holding them up from getting to us or being able to tell us what we need to hear.
Proverbs 28:9: If one turns away his ear from hearing the Law, even his prayer is an abomination.
Psalm 66:18-19: If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened; but God has surely listened and heard my voice in prayer.
1 Peter 3:7: Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers.
Mark 11:25-26: Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father who is in heaven will also forgive you your transgressions. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in heaven forgive your transgressions.
James 4:3: Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
1 John 5:14: This is the confidence we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
When I first got saved, I remember Chief Apostle Gunn coming to check on me one day and he pulled up in his truck. The first thing he told me was he saw an angel. The angel had its large wings wrapped around me and was sitting next to me on the porch. The porches were the place around the house where I often prayed and connected with God. I could feel God's presence. At that time, I was so wide open in the spirit, so free and so willing to do whatever it takes to please God. Just like in the flesh, when you are saved you can stumble, you can become weighed down with life’s burdens, pressures, and your own ways and over time you don’t realize that you have moved from God's presence and you're blocking his angels from ministering to you. The angels love God’s presence and worship and if you are living life outside of his presence and not living a life of worship, even if you are saved, then how can they be near you?
I come today to unbind the angels assigned to my life and the ones sent as an answer to the prayers that have gone up for me and from me.
I know this is a long post but please bear with me a little longer.
Ok, so after I finished this blog around 3 a.m. I went to sleep and I asked God to turn the post or let me know if I needed to add anything, if it is his will. I believe he answered me in a dream.
I won’t put the whole dream on here yet because I need to discuss it with my pastor in detail, but there is a part I feel is urgent to share: In the dream, all these people were gathered in this large space asking my pastor and his wife to help them get delivered. And my pastor simply said to the crowd, ”let that demon go.” It was known in the dream that all of the people in line waiting to be helped had the power to be free, but they were still holding on to the demons operating in their lives. Sometimes you get comfortable with sin and evil and you invite it to stay. But immediately in the dream, after he said “let that demon go,” the crowd cried out and rebuked the devil and praised God in unison and repentance - people of all races and kinds - and then an army of dark men immediately marched away from the crowd and left their presence and the people were free.
God is telling us to both loose our angels by changing our conduct and ways so that his will can be done in our lives and he is telling us to loose those demons we are holding on to -- the sin, the habits, the mindsets, the pride, the greed, the wicked ways we won’t let go of. Once we do these things, we will be free and shall recover all! We can be delivered by our decisions. Chief Apostle Gunn always taught us that. If we choose to change our ways, the devil can't stay.
As Chief Apostle Gunn just said in the most recent broadcast, we are to only be tied up and tangled up with Jesus, so we must untangle ourselves from the devil and unbind our angels so they can help us get closer to God's presence and will and fully surrender to him.
