What You See Is What You Get: The Watch Letter
"And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat." (Genesis 3:6).
The things that we see with our eyes can cause us to depart from, disregard and disobey God. Look what happened to Eve. It was what she saw that led to the fall of mankind.
Three-plus years ago, Chief Apostle H.C. Gunn warned us about what the enemy was using to cause us to draw back from God - what we see. During this time, Chief Apostle Gunn was also warning about the impact of Russia, COVID, social unrest, political turmoil, the economy, attacks on the elderly, and much more in the United States. So, if all of these things that he warned about through insight from God have come to pass, then what he has warned about concerning what we see with our eyes is just as critical. How has what we have watched or seen over the last three years impacted our lives, our homes, our walk with God?
Chief Apostle Gunn taught about how the eyes are a gate. He gave the example of television. He said everything we watch on TV/video goes into us. So, it matters what we and our children watch. He said, if we don't expel it, what we/they have taken in will stay in us/them forever. He said there are demon spirits that come through the eye-gate to take our salvation. TV, videos, and commercials are now designed so that we cannot keep up with them, they overtake us and they steal our time. He said we need to take back the day and one of the best ways to do that is to wake up earlier and get with God and get in his word.
We respond by what we take into our eye-gate, so we need to make sure we are filling that gate with what is of God. God's word, the Bible, is more than ink, it is life, and that's what we need to be setting before our eyes to take into our lives.
Think about David, a man after God's heart. It was his seeing a woman washing herself that caused him to lust, abandon his post, lie, have an affair, kill a man, and bring a curse upon his bloodline. He did not rebuke or resist what he saw. Chief Apostle Gunn gave the example that you can just have gotten saved but if you don't expel and stop what you have taken in with your eye-gate you can go back to that very same thing.
Chief Apostle Gunn also said that TV is not a parent and we cannot leave our children to be raised by what they watch. He said if you watch too much TV (content) you will start obeying the TV. Chief Apostle Gunn and Apostle Angel helped me to see the importance of cutting back on content. They both showed me where I consumed too much information and content. And I especially have to be careful because I work in the media industry.
Chief Apostle Gunn said that even our smartphones are being used by the enemy to take our thoughts, our memory, our conversation, our humanity, our willingness to participate, and our desire to spend time with God. I am a witness! He also showed us that too much content can destroy your mind. It can also destroy marriages and families and our ability to communicate and be sensitive to others. It can destroy our relationship with God. It can destroy our productivity and fruitfulness. It can cause us to mimic and take on the wrong things.
The Lord just reminded me of a testimony from Apostle Tee some years ago. She is always transparent and willing to testify and that is why God can use her. She shared how she was watching what was supposed to be a family show. But on the show, the mother was always fussing, angry, dissatisfied, or yelling. And she noticed that just from watching the show that some of those things started showing up in real-life. She quickly stopped watching the show. It is easy for us to justify something is okay to watch because it seems light-hearted, family-oriented, doesn't have x-rated content or curse words, but we know that those justifications are from the flesh and not from God. We must let him be our guide in what is pleasing to him and best for us and our families to take into our eye-gate. We know that our pastor hears from God so if we can listen to him about blessings we can listen to him about this too. I am determined to apply this instruction about the eye-gate to my daily life.
I'm so thankful to have come across this message from 2020. My 2-year-old niece, Lydia, somehow found one of my old notebooks in my bedroom, and that's how I found this message. It was perfect timing because on today's broadcast with Chief Apostle Gunn, he encouraged us to try to make sure every three hours throughout our day we our filling ourselves with the things of God. It's just that critical. What you see is what you get!
"The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!" (Matthew 6:22-23)

Amen...Amen...Amen Apostle Kanya!!!! We must watch what we take in!!!! I am normally not a TV watcher, but yesterday I was watching it as I rested on the couch & I wasted time that I could have just played the word like I usually do when I rest. So many times, I didn't value being able to spend time with God, and my wasted time turned into worry, frustration, fear, anxiety, fret, doubt, etc...everything that's not like God!!!! It's so important not to be overly consumed in what we see...Keep on looking to God Apostle Kanya!!!!❤️
