New: Come Home to the Father

There's a song titled "Prodigal Son" by Fred Hammond, and this song reminds me of what God has been speaking to us about in the Word.

God has been urging his children to come back to him. We can talk and pray to him about anything and he will listen. God wants his children to live with him in eternity, he doesn’t want any of us to be in hell.

God is holy and no evil can be welcomed in his kingdom. Generation Lit (the youth) is coming forward but we all can be a light for Christ on this Earth.

Our Pastor, Chief Apostle H.C. Gunn, sent a message one day saying, THE TIME IS NOW!

It is time for us to turn back to the Lord.

How many times has Jesus wept?

Last week on the broadcast, Chief Apostle H.C. Gunn talked about the story of Lazarus.

He was teaching how Jesus told Mary and Martha that the sickness he had would not end in death, but he still died (John 11). Mary and Martha had asked Jesus why he wasn’t there to heal Lazarus, and the disciples were questioning Jesus too.

I reread the story and I started to ask God for forgiveness. Jesus told them that the disease would not end in death, saying even if he died, Jesus could raise Lazarus up, and they didn’t believe him at his word or ensure that they fully understood what he told them.

We know that this chapter says that Jesus wept. As I was reading my commentary in the Bible, it said he wept not just for his friends but because his children didn’t believe him. All they had to do was believe and ask Jesus to resurrect Lazarus, and he did. But his children and those he calls his friends didn't have faith in what he told them and the power with him through his Father. I started crying because I felt Jesus' pain.

Get Convicted

When I read these verses and the chapter, I was astounded. Paul corrected the Corinthians and they responded to the correction with true godly sorrow. The felt guilty for the sins they committed, and took action to change, because they had a repented heart.

When we realize we've sinned against God, we feel sincerely guilty for the sins we have committed against him, and we realize on the inside, "God I need to be saved and I need your forgiveness,"

NEW: Healing in that water: The water of the WORD

We have to decree our healing! God died for our healing.

There are many things we need healing from and not just in our bodies!

Yet, we are already healed and this is documented in God’s word. But if we don’t read the word, we will never know the things God has promised us and has already done for us.

Your answer is and can be found in the healing waters of the WORD, which is the Bible!

Chief Apostle H.C. Gunn said we receive strength and love in our hearts by reading God’s word.

We have to know for ourselves what God has spoken to us and over us. We are healed!

NEW: Generation Lit Part 2

We are the next generation! God has called us to rise up, be light in darkness, and go spread his word, and do whatever work he has for us to do!

BUT... we have to make up our own minds, and choose God over everything else!

Think about this, what out there in the world is sincerely fun?

When you think about everything you could possibly do, when it comes to participating in the ways the world does things, there are always consequences to it.

For example, if you want to drink to have fun. That "fun" comes with knowing it is going to impair your judgment. Bad or unclear judgment leads to horrible things. Not to mention, alcohol destroys our bodies.

An Eternal Commitment

All last week, I had been reading about Jesus and his sacrifice for us.

Read: 1 Peter, ll Peter, and 1 John.

In these scriptures, we learn about Jesus, his walk with his father, and the things he commands us to do.

They also teach us how we are supposed to love Jesus and God, and it was very eye-opening.

Jesus loves us, but he loved is father first, and he wanted to be obedient.

Jesus was committed to obedience and that’s how he was able to be perfect before God! He had pure obedience toward his father no matter what, and he knew that whatever his father told him that was what he was going to do - because he loved him and respected him.

God wants to speak to you

On Feb. 12, Chief Apostle H.C. Gunn told us that God wants to speak to us, saved or unsaved. He said it may hurt, be a blessing, be instruction, or encouragement, but if God has something to say, we should want him to talk to us regardless of what it may be. We have to present our bodies as a living sacrifice to God. We have to be still and wait before Him and listen to Him speak -- even if it’s a whisper.

I know many times I prayed to hear from God, because I see different ones in the body sharing what God showed them or spoke to them, and it encourages me I want to hear from God, and I want him to trust me with whatever he tells me. A relationship is two ways. Both parties have to talk to each other. I want God to speak to me just like I speak to him. It’s so encouraging to me because I want God with all my heart, and for him to say he wants to speak to me is a blessing.

Where is it?

Malachi 1:6: ”A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my fear? saith the LORD of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name?“

I saved this scripture in my notes maybe a week ago, and today Chief Apostle H.C. Gunn, my grandfather he said God asked, “What are you doing with my name?” In this scripture the Lord was telling the people how they were treating him, and the people said how have we did that. Why would they ever think that God doesn’t know what he is talking about and they think they have the right to question the Lord?

In the natural, we know how we act towards certain people. For example, if you have a job you are going to do what you can to make sure your boss is pleased with you, but do we ask God is he pleased with us

Make Up Your Mind?

“The Devil is busy fooling all the people, choose to serve God or get left behind.... Make up your mind, who you're going to serve. Make up your mind before you run out of time."

These are a few lyrics from a song written by Holy Fire, our choir at The Body of Christ, Inc.

Choose to serve God.

When you make a commitment to serve Him, everything will come at you take back your commitment or to not follow through or uphold the end of your commitment.

ONE MAN

Through one man who sinned (Adam), sin entered into the whole world. Through one man who died (Jesus), mercy, grace, redemption, repentance, forgiveness, and new life entered into the world. It took one man to change the world!

How are our actions affecting everyone around us? We don’t think about how what we do or say has an effect on people around us — but it does.

If we are unwilling, our children could receive the seed of unwillingness, and whoever we are unwilling to help they could be affected or hurt by our unwillingness.

ONE MAN changed the entire world! We are all responsible and held accountable for our lives, and God is watching us. We say we are the Body of Christ, but if one part is not functioning correctly then the whole body will be affected.

Sweet 16, Sweet Surrender

Hello everybody my name is Jennifer. I’m Pastor Amaya’s little sister.

Recently, it was my birthday and for so long my family has been telling me that I shouldn’t turn another age without turning to God. Me being me -- I didn’t listen, nor did I take the warnings seriously.

The day of my 16th birthday came and my aunt, Apostle Angel, was preaching that Sunday.

I was thinking in the back of my mind that she was definitely going to say something about me regarding getting saved, but I didn’t think too much about it.

Speak the Word

Jesus was led by the Spirit to go to the wilderness, and Satan showed up, and tried to tempt Jesus.

I was praying today to God about how Chief Apostle H.C. Gunn (my Pop Pop) had brought forth the Word about deliverance. He said that God already gave us victory, and we must obey what the Word tells us to do even when we are battled, tempted, or tested by certain things. I said, "Lord, when you were in the wilderness, you quoted the scripture to Satan."

I had to take a minute because I realized what I had said was so powerful. God used the Word and the power his Father gave him to overcome temptation. Even though the devil could quote scripture, he doesn't have any authority compared to or over God, so his quoting scripture can't work unless we give in to the devil.

Faith Without Works is Dead

God said to at least have faith as little as a mustard seed, but it doesn't stop there.

We have to have faith, and we have to exercise and grow our faith.

James 2 talks about how Abraham had faith when God told him to sacrifice his son and Abraham's faith was justified by his works. We can say we have faith, but in moments when faith is required, does your faith wither away, or does it stand tall?

 Heaven is Rejoicing

God told our leader, Chief Apostle H.C. Gunn, that there is going to be a revival of the children. God doesn’t lie. His word is true! And like a wildfire the youth in our church have been receiving salvation.

God loves us so much and we are so special to him that Heaven rejoices every time a soul is saved. If you were getting ready to graduate high school and no one celebrated that achievement wouldn’t you be upset? All of heaven rejoices when we choose to take a step of faith and receive His son, Jesus, as our Lord and Savior. Last week, my younger cousins Daniel, Lydia, Yoel, and Yireh testified that they are saved, and they are only 2 and 3 years old!

The Storm Is Over Now

Peter and the rest disciples were on a boat, and they were caught in the middle of a storm. Jesus was praying on the mountain while the disciples were experiencing this storm. Jesus came were the disciples were and he started to walk on water, and Peter said, Lord if this is you command me to come to you.

Peter was walking on water until he lost faith and he fell in the water. The point I’m trying to make is God has given and shown you that the storm is over now, but you have to have faith. Sometimes we look at our situation, what we don’t have, what we need, etc., but God already told us he is our provider, and he is our strong tower.

Pure Obedience: Step by Step

In Numbers 20, Moses and Aaron were given instructions by God because the children of Israel was thirsty. Apostle Tee had preached recently about Moses not following the full instructions of God, and how that caused him not to enter the Promise land, and I was studying this scripture, and I felt God was bringing it up again.

God told Moses to speak to the rock, before the children, and water will flow, and Aaron also was with Moses. Instead of Moses speaking to the rock, he struck the rock twice. Due to this, Moses and Aaron had sinned and disobeyed the Lord. God never told him to strike the rock.

Due to their actions, Aaron died because he didn’t try to stop or correct Moses, and Moses eventually died and they both wouldn’t make it to the land of milk and honey. We cannot try to follow God instructions, but add our own twist or spin to it because of how we feel, and we have to be obedient to God step by step and do what HE says!

Tap Into God’s Mind

Everyone pray and ask God to reveal his way of thinking to you.

Pray to God and tell him that you want to tap into his mind and that you want to think like him, and that you want to know how God thinks and how he wants us to live. I have been praying this prayer, and then I got James chapter 2. After I prayed this prayer, God took me to this chapter, and he began to reveal his way of thinking. For example, in James, it says you see a person naked and hungry, and you pray that they find warmth and food, but instead, if you see someone that has a need why wouldn't you help clothe them and feed them yourself? I am making a list of all the scriptures God has been and will be giving me.

Throughout the Bible, the Word that is taught by our Leader, Chief Apostle H.C. Gunn, and other apostles God is using, and through the online ministries, etc., God has been revealing to us his way of thinking and how we should live every day. But we must take time ourselves to be specific with God, and he will answer us. It’s important that all of our ways be pure unto God and we should want a pure mind and a pure heart, as Chief Apostle Gunn has shown us. I know this blog is short, but it is very important!

The Miracle of Obedience and a Saved Soul

My sister Alexandria (Ally) got saved last Sunday. I am so happy and so proud of her, and I encourage her to not look back. Last Sunday was amazing watching God move throughout the service.

To start it off, on Friday at service, I kept hearing wait till Sunday, wait till Sunday! Then Sunday came, and while we were waiting in the parking lot to go in for service, I felt that the choir should sing the melody that my aunties had written years ago. When the youth choir sings, Ally sings the part "Will you marry me, Jesus." Then, Apostle Check (Auntie Terah), said "It’s something in my spirit about 'Will you marry me, Jesus?'”

 Trust God

The other day, while I was in my car, I was praying, but I didn’t feel too good. I had a weird and strange feeling in my chest and my stomach and I began to pray and to plead the blood.

After I prayed, that feeling was removed and I praised God because I don’t know what was done in the moment for me or someone else but God kept me and them.

I wanted to share that testimony because we have to pray, pray, and pray. No matter what is going on or how you feel we must pray. Prayer is a precious thing, and we need to make sure we are not wasting that gift. We may never know how our prayers could be helping someone or intervening for us, but continue to pray. When you feel like your prayers aren’t going through or you feel stuck continue to pray, God will see you through. We are a working body, and we all need each other. God wants us to be warriors in prayer, so that no matter what, we will pray through every battle.

Our Life is Not Our Own

James 4:1-3: "From whence come wars and fightings among you? Come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts."

These verses are talking about how when we can’t get what we want: we'll fight, we’ll murder ... we’ll do anything to get it. What if God just gave us everything we wanted no matter what it was? We will do everything we can to get our way, but we should be wanting God’s way and not our way. God has been bringing forth all of these wonderful messages (through the services, broadcasts, etc.), because he wants us to want his way all the time, ever second, every minute, and everyday.

Yesterday, when I got home, I went into prayer, and this morning I had continued that prayer, and the word fear came up. I have let fear operate in my life whether it was school, speaking up, etc. but we must remember God did not give us the spirit of fear (2 Timothy 1:7).

Sincerity

Sincerity means the quality or state of being sincere, honesty of mind, freedom from hypocrisy. These scriptures say love (have charity) out of a sincere (pure heart). We must love God sincerely and we must love each other sincerely. God is love, and he loves each one sincerely and we can’t look at someone and say, “God doesn’t love them because they are living this way.”

God doesn’t love our sin, but he still loves us. God sent his son Jesus to die for us because he loves us that much. We don’t think much about how Jesus was a young boy who was raised by his parents. We don’t think much about how God was with us in human form, and he had to grow up and face different things. But knowing what was at hand, God completed what had to be done.

Don't Take it For Granted

We have sung this song often when we bring our offering during service, and we should take it to heart:

"We’re blessed in the city, we’re blessed in the field, we’re blessed when we come and go. We cast down every stronghold, sickness and poverty must cease. For the devil is defeated and we are blessed."

We are blessed!

I had to go to a Mental Health Clinical for nursing school, and it reminded me that we must be more appreciative of our life. God has kept us from so many things, and we have to be grateful. Everybody is not getting taught the Word, but we have been blessed to be able to hear God’s Word. So many times, we complain about our situation, but think about what God brought us from, think about how things could be worse. Be thankful and know you are blessed.

Live in God's Kingdom

Last Sunday, Chief Apostle H.C. Gunn preached that it’s about the Kingdom! I’m going to talk about specific verses from the scripture above, but the whole scripture is still important. Verse 3 says, "God will be with men, he will dwell with them, they will be his people, God himself will be with him, and be their God."

Even though this scripture is talking about a new heaven and earth, God already has given us the key to live in the new heaven and the new earth. I know that there will be an actual new heaven and earth, but I’m talking about while we are still living on this earth we can be living in God’s kingdom.

We don’t have to wait for the new Jerusalem, we can start now -- walking and living in God’s kingdom. It says God is with men right now -- today!

New: Seek me and you will find me

“Seek me and you will find me.”

Before I write any blog, I pray because I want to make sure I am typing whatever God wants to say to us. God gives different messages when it is the right time to share it. I told God to say whatever he has for us in this blog today, and he said, “Seek me and you will find me.”

Acts 17:27: “That they shall seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us.”

Jesus is not far from any of us, if we seek him we will find him. God has always made himself known to us, but sometimes we don't see him because we are not going after him, but on this day seek him!

What are you going to do with the Word God has given you?

I’m pretty sure God has spoken a Word over everyone in the Body, but what do you do with it?

Do you drop his Word on the ground, do you find yourself in disbelief, are you still trying to serve Satan, so you’re not listening, or do you trust God in his Word?

We have to take what God speaks over us seriously, and we have to have faith. If we don’t stand in faith and trust in God, and if we choose not to take his Word seriously then we won't see it come to pass.

Unconditional Love

Unconditional means not subject to any conditions. God shows us unconditional love every day. God didn’t list a certain set of conditions to receive his love, he shows it to us anyway.

So why, as humans, do we set conditions for other people to receive our love?

-If someone doesn't like us, then we don’t like them.
-If someone doesn't give to us, then we don’t give to them.
-If someone does wrong by us, we hold a grudge against them, etc.

I know in certain situations you may not be able to give to everyone. If you give to certain people, it could cause a cankerworm to come into your situation because you could be sowing into something that isn’t holy, but besides that we have set requirements people must meet to receive our love.

New Every Morning

God awaits to be gracious to us, and His mercies renew everyday. I was praying to God about how He shows us so much mercy and grace, and these scriptures answer why. God gives us multiple chances throughout the day.

Here's an example of His mercy: What if we only had 50 chances for the day, but we ran out and God let us have 100. And the next day, even though we went over our chances the day before, we get 100 more chances.

God doesn’t want to just punish us or never give us another chance. He awaits to show us mercy and grace because he is a God of justice. But, when God or people show us mercy and grace, we can’t take it for granted. And we can’t just assume that we will always get another chance because one day we won’t.

Toward the end of the trip and when we got back home, God had witnessed through different ones an important reminder to me. There were about three or four people who came to me and said, "Satan will try to use the ones closest to you to hurt you."

God was trying to tell me, through them, that Satan is out to truly hurt me in any way he can. But I can't let Satan have that power over me, thinking he can hurt me. The way we defeat Satan, when he tries to hurt us, is to call him out and to know that we wrestle not against flesh and blood.

When You Get Blessed

God has been telling us through Chief Apostle H.C. God has been doing exactly what he has been telling us. Sometimes we have found ourselves forgetting about God or not paying attention to him because we get blessed. Stay Connected to God

When I prayed that day I told God it amazes me "how there’s billions of people in the world and you still know each and every one of us personally!" God tries to stay connected to us all the time, and the way he does it doesn't seem like he has all of these children, because he is so personal with us. So many times we don’t put God first, but he still puts us first every time, as our Father.

Don't Take the Devil's No

My Pastor who is my Pop Pop, Chief Apostle H.C. Gunn told us to not take the devil’s no.

So many times we feel like we have messed up, went backwards, we have a feeling of we can’t move forward, things are too hard, but that’s taking the devil’s no. Satan wants us to quit and to throw in the towel, but we can’t listen to him. Jesus didn’t listen to satan when he tried to tempt him to sin. Jesus was in the flesh just like us and he is the perfect example of not taking the devil’s no.

The devil probably tried so many times to tell Jesus that he would fail and that he can’t save the souls of his children, but Jesus didn’t listen to satan. Satan wants to see us fail and he tries to throw things or situations at us to where we feel like we can’t continue to move forward. Satan will try to tell you, you can’t make it on this walk with God, but you can. He may try to tell you, what God told you isn’t going to come to pass, but you can have faith and watch Jesus come through. He always does.

That’s the key! No matter what satan may try to do to make us throw in the towel we have to turn to Jesus and ask for strength and for his help and he will come through for us.

Noah and the Ark

Noah was given a task by God and he had to build an ark. The scriptures say Noah did according unto all that the Lord commanded him to. These people haven't seen rain in so long, so why would they even take the time to believe in a flood coming?

But, Noah was obedient anyway and he tried to warn the people. He didn't care if he hadn't seen rain in over 100 years; he just did what God told him to do.

We should take Noah as an example and be obedient to God in whatever he tells us to do. Another key thing is while God was destroying the earth, he found grace with Noah. Can God find grace with us?

Does God see that we try to serve him, that we truly love him, that we love one another, and that we truly try to live a life that is pleasing to him?

Let Jesus Be the Operator

An operator is a person who may run a machine, a business, or an enterprise. An operator operates and runs or controls whatever they are doing. I want to ask you a question, “Is Jesus the operator in your life?”

If we don’t have Jesus, he isn't the operator of our life, we are letting satan and ourselves be the operator in our lives.

We have to accept Jesus and welcome him in us and let him be the operator of our life. When we choose salvation, our flesh doesn’t stop trying to be the operator in our lives, but we have to deny our flesh and we have to feed our spirits and let his spirit also be the operator of our life.

When you get saved you still have old ways you have to get rid of, but we fully can’t get rid of them unless God is the operator of our lives.

Yesterday, we were in service and my Pop Pop, Chief Apostle H.C. Gunn, said something during service
that God told him, while he was in his wait. He said, “God told me to save the country.”

When he said that, it was like something hit me so hard and it made me tear up, because that is an answered prayer for me. It is so amazing to me how God can trust my Pop Pop to help save the country.

I’m going to back track a little bit. So, during service as soon as he said that I felt to talk about it on the blog, I had a plan to write the blog when I had got home, but then I fell asleep. So, this morning writing the blog didn’t even cross my mind until I got in my wait. It is important to take the word and apply and practice it daily, because it is instruction from God. While I was in my wait, I vividly saw the number 5.

Don’t be dismayed by the spirit of fear

I will fear no evil. Fear is an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat. God is with us, he comforts us, he fights the battle for us, and he leads and guides us. We don’t have to fear Satan and the adversary. If you truly believe God is with you, then know that in your heart, and don’t be dismayed by what Satan may throw your way.

So many times, we're wrapped and frozen in fear with what Satan may try to throw at us, know that God will fight your battles. He will be with you. He will get you through it. Get rid of the spirit of fear. Don’t fear whatever may come your way. Know God is with you, and he wants to protect you and fight for you, but many times we let our flesh rise up and we will be stubborn, and we try to fight our own battles, knowing that without God we are scared.

Answered Prayers

Job 22:27- You will pray to him, and he will hear you, and you will fulfill your vows.

Ephesians 6:18- And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

Jesus wants to answer our prayers. He wants to hear our requests, our concerns, what we may be going through, our love for him, etc. Prayer helps us build a relationship with God and having a relationship with him is important. You shouldn’t want your prayers to hit the ceiling and not even reach God’s ears. God wants to answer our prayers, but we have to make sure that nothing is blocking our prayers being heard.

Feeding the 5,000

He said, "Bring them hither to me. And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. And they did all eat and were filled: and they took up the fragments that remained twelve baskets full. And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children."

Sometimes you may see a little, but God sees a whole lot. What I mean by that is we just look at the things we can see, and we do not think we have much. God sees what we have, and he sees bigger than what our eyes can see. We have to trust God with what we have. We have to include God in it. You may not see much but pray and ask God to show you what his plan is with what you have in your hand.

Fight the (Right) Enemy

I have been reminded of Ephesians 6:12 multiple times throughout this week.

Ephesians 6:12 says, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

The enemy is going to do everything he can to hurt us. The enemy doesn’t want to see any of us happy or joyful in the Lord.

He may use people who we love, who are close to us, etc. to attack and hurt us, but we can’t let the hurt go too deep. We have to show the enemy that we are not going to let envy, bitterness, unforgiveness, etc. build up in us.

It's Time to Get Serious

2 Timothy 4:5: But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

Endure, work, and ministry are three key words I want to talk about today.

1. Endure: Suffer patiently. When you are saved and walking with God, there are a lot of things you have to endure. Some people will turn their back on you, sometimes you face correction, sometimes when you're trying to help a person they seem to not listen, sometimes you may even lose people, etc. God wants us to endure it all. We may go through, but in our go through we have to make sure to be patient. God has been patient with us for so long, and he is looking for us to be patient to others and even ourselves. Sometimes we may want to quit on ourselves, but that's what satan wants us to do. You may be battling with something, but endure throughout the battle, and know God is with you, and you have to fight whatever you may be facing, and don’t quit. Tell satan NO!

Let God Transform You

Earlier this week the word “conqueror” hit my mind during prayer. God gave us the victory to conquer everything satan, the adversary, this world, our flesh, ourselves, etc. may try to throw at us to make us fail.

When we are trying to serve God, everything will come to make us turn our backs on him, but we can’t let that happen. On the weekly broadcast, Chief Apostle Gunn, my Pop Pop said, “let God transform you.”

We have to let God transform us into the soldiers he needs us to be in his army. A soldier is meant to conquer the enemy, and that's what we are supposed to do. Without Jesus, we can’t conquer the enemy. God gave us the victory, and he even gave us the love we need to love him.

Keep going. God wants to use this blog today to encourage you today!

Keep going, keep trusting, keep moving forward. God is an encourager and so many times we can be so focused on what’s going wrong or a situation we may be going through, but we have to remember God’s encouraging words.

On Tuesday night service, Chief Apostle H.C. Gunn said, “Get up and journey on.” God corrects, but he also encourages. He uses both of those things in balance. God is trying to help us to keep moving and growing further in him. He sees you trying, and he is saying keep going!

God never quit on us.

Rise Up!

Rise up!

There is a song that plays on the radio, and it says, “Rise up, can’t you hear the voice of Jesus calling us, out from the grave like Lazarus.” During a recent service, Apostle Keta, who is also my auntie, talked about Lazarus, and how God raised him from the dead. She said, “Get loose.”

God is trying to tell us that we don’t have to be spiritually dead! God wants to help us get loose from everything that is dead and goes against him. We don’t have to walk around like spiritual zombies. God is saying, “wake up, wake up!” He is calling us out of the dry, dead places.

Jesus Has Made a Way

Jesus has already made a way for us. No matter what you may be dealing with, God has already made way out and that his through him.

God shows us that, he will make a way out of nothing, or something that seems as if there is no escape. He is the way, the truth, and the life, nothing else is.

We need to lean on Jesus, we need to trust in Jesus, we need to obey Jesus, etc., and all of those things also goes toward the people God sends to help us.

Lay down all of your hurt, pain, tears, sleepless nights, etc, and give it over to God. Even in joy, love, peace, serving, salvation, worshipping, etc., give it all to God. God will show us how to have genuine worship, love, peace, etc.

The Perfect Father

Psalm 23 is showing what a perfect Father God is. The Lord restores, leads, protects, gives mercy and grace, etc. In Psalm 23 , God is showing what a perfect shepherd looks like. He is always there to provide, protect, help, provide for, and guide his sheep. God makes sure to be the best Shepherd, Father, Savior, etc., He can be to every one of his sheep, and he is always looking for more to add.

God will recover us when we have gone astray. He will make sure our enemies will not defeat us. He shows us mercy and grace because he knows we may run away or make mistakes. He gives us peace and he restore us. God loves us so much, but how do we show our love to him?

Love has to be reciprocated, it can't be shown or given by just one person in the relationship. God has been doing everything he can for his sheep since the beginning of time. But what has his sheep done for Him? How do you show your Father that you are thankful?

Get Rid of Division

We can’t break up the families God has brought together. God created Adam and he didn’t want Adam to be alone, so he created Eve. Some people in your family may not be as you say “blood-related,” but you consider them family so, if we say we love one another why do we create beef and division amongst each other?

God will bring families together because he knows who you need in your life. We can’t let the devil cause separation between our families. Now, if someone is trying to live in the world it may have to be division, according to the word, but why not try to help save them where you can? We have to get rid of the division God does not approve of, and we have to forgive one another. God told us to check on and encourage one another and he said that for a reason.

The Perfect Plan

Our lives have to be pleasing to God. Sometimes when we want to do things our way, it may not be the best thing for us. God has a plan for each of us. His plan is perfect, and everything he does is perfect. During prayer, a question came up. Why do we want to do things our way instead of wanting God’s perfect plan to be done in our life?

Everything God does for us is perfect. Think about this: When God does things for us there is no sin attached, no uncleanness, no evil, etc.

When Satan tries to do things for us it is full of deceit, tricks, sin, etc.

Everything from God is perfect. Whether it’s not the right time you think it should be, or the right location where you think you should live, etc. Whatever it may be, God's plans are perfect.

astray.

As people, we like when we have someone helping us for the things we think we need, but we don’t always accept God’s help when we need it.

God has been trying to help us from the very beginning. With Adam and Eve, he gave them a perfect life, the way he saw fit, but they disobeyed his one rule. Jesus died on the cross for our sins, but not everyone is thankful or even chooses to serve him because of what he did for us.

Be Righteous

Righteousness means the quality or state of being morally correct and justifiable.

Isaiah 33:15-17 says: He who walks righteously and speaks uprightly, who despises the gain of oppressions, who shakes his hands, lest they hold a bribe, who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed and shuts his eyes from looking on evil, he will dwell on the heights; his place of defense will be the fortresses of rocks; his bread will be given him; his water will be sure. Your eyes will behold the king in his beauty; they will see a land that stretches afar.

Proverbs 21:3 says: To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.

Be righteous. We have to make sure we are living a just and right life. In everything we do, it should be just and right. God is righteousness and he does things just and right. We have to check ourselves and see where we have not been just or right in a situation. I have younger siblings and we go back and forth a lot. But what if I'm not right because I'm the oldest?

What Are You Doing With Your Seeds?

When we receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we have to live in him each and every single day. We can’t choose to this day serve God, but the next day choose to serve Satan. When you aren't serving God, you're serving Satan no matter how you look at it.

We are supposed to choose to serve God every day, 24 hours a day. The word teaches us and helps us to live in God everyday, as well as prayer, the preaching from our leaders, choosing to not sin against God etc. We have to decide to live for God every day, it shouldn’t be cut off like a light switch.

Different seeds have been planted in us that help influence and encourage us to serve God in one way or the other. Maybe it was a message from your pastor, an aunt's encouragement, a sermon you heard on the radio, etc. Whatever it is, that seed is planted in you, and it is up to you if you are going to continue to let it grow or not.

What is Your Pleasure?

Hebrews 11:24-25

By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called son of Pharaoh’s daughter; choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season.

Pleasure means a feeling of happy satisfaction and enjoyment. Moses didn’t want to sin against God, so he suffered affliction rather than fulfill his own sinful pleasures. We can have sinful pleasures, but we can also have holy pleasures. We could joy in God, the things of God, we can be happy serving Jesus, etc. But we could also have pleasures in doing sinful things. We shouldn’t want to sin against God just to have that feeling of happiness or excitement that isn’t going to last that long.

We don’t understand that when we sin, it is filling something in us that will never be filled. Why? Because that thing that will fill us is Jesus. Jesus is the answer. We can be happy and joy in Jesus. Salvation is fun and joyful! Moses was willing to suffer for God rather than have the pleasures of sin, which isn’t going to last long.

When we sin, we may feel good for that moment, or we may enjoy it for that moment, but after it’s over, you grieve because you sinned against God and that feeling goes away so fast! But when you have pleasure in Jesus that feeling will last forever! When you have Jesus, it doesn’t just last for a season it will last forever.

Will You Take My Hand?

Will you take my hand?

The other day at service, my pastor, Chief Apostle H.C. Gunn, explained that he had a vision and God showed him that He reached his hand out to me, and in response I grabbed God's hand. I was so amazed and full of joy to hear that, because what if God had reached his hand out to me, but I didn’t grab his hand?

I say all of that to say, God is reaching out to us, are we going to take his hand? Are we going to let God lead us? Are we going to let God take the wheel? There's this song be Fred Hammond titled "Draw Nigh." It talks about wanting to get closer to God. God has always been trying to get close to us, but we are the ones who decide to get close to him or stay far away.

If you choose to get close to God your life will show that, and vice versa. God is available for everyone to be close to him, and if you’re not there yet, you can get there. One of the key things is your heart, soul, mind, all of you, has to want God. You've got to have a hunger and thirst for him daily. If you don’t have that, how close are you trying to get to God?

A word came through Apostle Red, who is my father, and Chief Apostle H.C. Gunn, who is my grandfather, and God asked us: Who did we comfort last week?

We all have sinned, and we were born with a sinful nature. We are all sinners, but God has given us the opportunity to be unblameable. What I mean by that is, God has given us the key to be clean, pure, washed, renewed, etc. Unblameable means innocent, free from guilt, etc. We have the chance to get rid of the sin we may be living in or have lived in.

God gave up his one and only son for us. He wanted to give us another chance and he wanted us to be able to live with him one day. We have to see if we have sacrificial love. For example, Abraham was going to sacrifice his son to God because he had sacrificial love, and he wanted to be obedient to God no matter what.

Don’t Wait Before It’s Too Late

6 Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near.
7 Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the Lord, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.

Don’t wait too late to get saved! Turn your life back to God. Some of you may be in a back sliding state, and some of you may not have given your lives to Christ. But today could be the day you go back to Him. Every breath we have to be thankful for. Every heartbeat we have to be thankful for. We have to be thankful for these things because that’s our second chance or that may be our opportunity to get saved. If you’ve sinned against God that next breath is another chance to repent and like my pastor, say, “Journey on.”

When was the last time you told God thank you?

When was the last time we stopped what we were doing to give God thanks? When was the last time we showed God that we were thankful?

There's so many questions we can ask ourselves and we can see are we really thankful for everything God has done for us. Even in the little things we should say thank you. God deserves all of our thanks because he paid the ultimate price for us! He sent Jesus and he died so we can have another chance, and if we're saved we have our salvation to be thankful for.

Obedience to God

At service on Tuesday, my pastor told the body, we think too small when it comes to God because we are lacking in obedience.

Obedience means, compliance with an order, request, or law or submission to another's authority. We are obedient to our parents, but why can’t we be obedient to God? God was our first parent; he is our father.

God has told our body to trust him, and trust ties in with obedience. For example, if someone you know tells you to do something, but you don’t trust them like that, you might be hesitant to do what they said or you might not do it at all. In order to be obedient to God, we have to trust him. If you don’t trust God, how can you be obedient to him?

Represent God

1 Peter 3:3-4: Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel. But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

We have to represent God inside and out. God looks at the heart, but he also looks at our outside appearance. We need to get to the place where we ask God how he wants us to look, or is this appropriate for us to wear, etc.

If we are truly trying to serve God, we should want to become who he wants us to become. God knows who he wants us to be, but we have to seek his face so we can be who God wants us to be.

God is Our Provider

Matthew 6:31-33: "Do not worry then, saying, 'What will we eat?' or 'What will we drink?' or 'What will we wear for clothing?' For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."

God is trying to show and tell us that he is our provider. We spend too much time worrying about things, and God is trying to get us out of that mindset. We don’t have to worry. We choose to worry. But, if we are not seeking the kingdom first then yes, we should probably worry.

God has everything we need, and he gives us things we want, but we choose to worry instead of having faith. Now, if you got a bill you need to pay and you know you have to pay the bill, pay it --- unless God tells you to do something else with it. God is not saying be careless. He is not saying just let your lights go out or just let your child run wild. God will provide for parents if their child is choosing to rebel. If we seek his kingdom, God will hear our prayers and bring that child back to you and to Him, because we are first God’s children.

The Holy Spirit helps us to avoid sin and shows us how to defeat sin, and Jesus gives us the power to rebuke sin and to fight against it. We can’t build a house full of sin. We need to build a house filled with Jesus. Our bodies are supposed to be God’s temple, but he can’t dwell in us if sin has taken over.

We cannot follow and love God with just our flesh, with just our minds, or just our hearts (because the heart is deceitful). We cannot maintain our salvation with mere words, songs, and repetitions. We need to be operating and living in the spirit in order to truly fellowship with and know God.

Pray with Fire

I attend a Christian school and in class we watched a young man preach about praying with fire. It was really a big eye-opener to me.

I prayed after watching the video and I believe the Lord told me some things. He put an impression on my heart that I need to put power into this blog and I need to say everything I need to say no matter how long this blog may be. He also said to me that he is going to move through this blog.

We've got to pray with fire. Some of your physical bodies are healthier than your spiritual bodies. Many times, we pray for something we want, think we need, or just unnecessary things in general. When we pray, we are supposed to want to build a relationship with God. We shouldn’t pray just to take from God. God wants to talk to us too.

What Does Your Love Meter Say?

What is the status of your love meter?

Do any of you remember the love match game, where you put your name and, for example, you put your crush's name in it? Then they give you a percentage and that percentage is your love compatibility and how successful your relationship will be.

I say that to ask: Where would our percentage be with God? I’m not talking about typing God's actual name in the game, but spiritually. God loves us a lot, he died for us, and he is love. But are we willing to sacrifice anything for God?

Do we make sure we spend time with Him every day?

What's Done in the Dark, Comes to the Light

Whatever you do in the dark will come to the light. As children in this society, we think we can get away with a lot of stuff. We think nobody sees what we are doing, but God sees it all. We can’t hide anything from God. No matter how secretive we think we are, God sees it all.

Psalm 139:1-4 is showing us how God knows us, God is watching us, and God sees us. We think we can trick God and think, “Yea, I got him, he doesn’t know what I did.” But that is false. We can’t fool God. Even our thoughts, we think no one can hear them, but God hears them.

Don't Feed Your Flesh

Don’t feed your flesh! If you’re not trying to serve God then you will do whatever your flesh desires, no matter what it is. But if you are focused on serving God, you shouldn’t want to feed your flesh.

For example, your parents told you to be home at a certain time, but you decide to come home later
because you don’t want your friends to laugh at you. You’re feeding your flesh by not being obedient to your parents.

Answer the Call - God Wants to Use You Now

Samuel became God’s prophet at a young age. Are we willing to answer the call? Some children think they are too young to start doing what God called them to do or they simply think they don’t have to serve God until they're older but that is false. God uses children.

It is better to be used as a child because you are more open to God. God is calling us while we are young so as we get older, he can keep using us. We can grow up to be great men and women of God, but we must answer the call.

Today, I will be talking about Leadership. Some of you reading this have been called to a leadership position. Whether it's being a youth pastor, choir director, ushering, praying, or whatever it may be.

God called you to be a leader for a reason. You can help others come to Christ in whatever position he may call you to. But being a leader can be challenging.

With YOU

This week, what has been sticking with me is: God is with us. We take it lightly but if we really think about it, God has told us many times - in his word - that he is with us. BUT we have to believe it. God was with David and David defeated the giant. God was with Moses and the children of Israel were free.

We just have to trust, have faith, and believe that God is with us. Jesus doesn’t want us to have to go through anything on our own, but many times we choose to because we don’t welcome God in. Some of you may question: 'Is God really with me?" Yes, he is available, BUT you've just got to believe it!

 Greater Plans

God’s plan is greater than our plans.

My pastor, Chief Apostle H.C. Gunn, gave me a word from the Lord. He said: “God will lead me and guide me in my life."

I believe God has been doing just that. People may ask how do you know if it’s God’s plan or your own plans, but God will show you.

Pray, seek God, and seek counsel and he will show you.

Did you even try to pray about your decision before you made it? Are you happy with what you’re doing right now? I believe many times God already has shown us his plan for us because he gives us talents.

We may think we don’t know God’s plan but he has already shown us. We just have to seek God and he’ll expand our understanding. We were created for God’s glory and we were made in the image of him.

True Riches

“And the disciples were astonished at His words. But Jesus answered again and said to them, “Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God.””
‭‭Mark‬ ‭10‬:‭24‬-‭25‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

When I read this verse, I was astonished. It's hard to imagine a camel fitting through the tiny eye of a needle, especially when sometimes it’s hard for a thin string to fit through it.

We cannot take anything with us when we die. Our flesh goes to the dirt and our soul goes to Heaven or hell. I don’t want to live for anything else but God.

A rich man is focused on what he has and he begins to idolize money and things as more valuable and more important than anything else. But these things are not what is most important.

God Plans

Go after what God has planned for you.

Many times we desire to do different things in our lives, but we don’t seek what God wants us to do.

What if we are operating in Satan’s plans for our life and not God’s plan? God has a plan for every one of us but we think we know what’s best.

How can we think this if we couldn’t even create our own selves? Nothing would’ve been created without God, and he knows everything. The talents, characteristics, and personalities we were made with, God has a plan for us to use those various things.

We could be really good at something but what God wants is for us to use it for his glory, but we use it for self profit.

It’s important to live a life being obedient to God. Try it and you’ll see how your life unfolds.

 An Eternal Commitment

All last week, I had been reading about Jesus and his sacrifice for us.

Read: 1 Peter, ll Peter, and 1 John.

We are almost at blog 200!!! This is the 158th blog!!! I’m so thankful and grateful!!

Mistaken identity. Sitting here writing the blog I heard the words mistaken identity.

"You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it." - John‬ ‭8‬:‭44‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Some of us think we are a child of God, but really we are a child of satan. We think the things we are doing are okay and that we still belong to God. We take lightly God’s word.

The Bible tells us - in black and white - that if you sin, practice unrighteousness, live in darkness, choose unholy and unclean conduct and lifestyle, and more, then you don’t belong to God and satan is your father.

Be grateful

I am working in the hospital finishing up my preceptorship as I prepare to become a nurse. And going in and out of those rooms makes me thank God that I don’t have to be a patient in the hospital.

There are so many things we have to be thankful for. God gives us another chance every day that we see. When we look at someone else who may be going through more than us, it should cause us to be more thankful than ever.

God gave us a word saying he is here to heal, provide, bless, etc., but even before that word we already have had plenty to be thankful for — we are already rich in God!

We have to look at things through God’s eyes and not our own. I’m thankful for what God has been reminding me. I know I wouldn’t want to be getting IVs, catheters, tubes, meds after meds, or experience not being able to move on my own every day.

Your Body Belongs to God

“Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭6‬:‭13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We belong to God, and our physical bodies belong to God. I have been praying to God about how I want my temple clean and holy for him and the Holy Ghost to dwell in because my temple belongs to God.

Chief Apostle also went over this during a recent broadcast. God wants to dwell in us, but he isn’t an intruder. We have to open the doors and let God in, but God cannot dwell in a dirty place. We think we can do whatever we choose to do and whatever we feel like in our bodies because “it’s our life,” but it’s not. We were made for God.

How to Be a Christian

My leader, Chief Apostle H.C. Gunn, has been stressing the importance of reading your Bible! It is so important because the Bible is a living and breathing manual on how to serve God and love and live right. I was praying and I was thanking God for how he didn’t leave us without any help.

Jesus could’ve said, "I died for you ... what more do you need," but God left us with the Word, the Holy Ghost, and he, God, speaks to us, and made it so we can have a relationship with him, and, not to mention, he blessed us with leaders to lead us.

If you read the Bible, a lot of times you see some of the same things, but in different scriptures. One thing I saw reoccurring was instruction on how to be a Christian or the Christian way. This is after you have confessed with your mouth and believed in your heart that Jesus died for you and rose from the ground and that he is Lord. Romans 10:9-10

Cups

What is in Your Cup?

Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils

This verse is very profound! We cannot drink the cup of the Lord and from the devil's. So many times we say we are Christians or serve God, but our lifestyle says otherwise. You can’t say you are a child of God but you are still choosing to live a life that is serving the devil.

We have to choose who we are going to serve. God doesn’t want us to be lukewarm! We can’t say, oh it’s ok if I serve God and the devil, because what you are doing is serving the devil regardless.

If we are choosing to let sin reign in our lives, we belong to Satan not God. God sees us and he knows our hearts, and he sees everyone who thinks they can fool God. Our flesh wants sin and it feeds off of sin, and we all know we have to battle our flesh and sin everyday, but are you surrendering to your flesh or are you constantly at war with your flesh everyday, and are you not letting your flesh win because you don’t want sin in your life?

Well, on Nov. 5, God spoke over the children and youth in our Church Body, through Chief Apostle Gunn, that we are the generation that is going to turn this world upside down, and spoke Generation "Lit” over us!

The world uses “Lit” as a slang word, but God isn’t using it like the world uses it. The scripture shows us what he means!

Matthew 5:14-16
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

 God's Expectation

On Sunday, during service, there was a major deliverance in the atmosphere, and I started to jump, and then I started to shout, and this was my first time experiencing that. I felt the deliverance and I was like I want that, and when I started to shout, I just felt the Spirit fall on me, and my eyes were closed, hands were lifted and I was just praising God. I’ve been praying that God would give me my shout, because I want to praise God with all my heart, and I don’t want to be stuck in the same place. After I finished praising, my legs were burning, and my legs felt a little weak afterwards, and they felt different, as I went up to sing with the choir. Something was taking place.

I Won't Let You Fall

Lately, different scriptures I have been reading have been about not letting your brother fall. Even if the other person is walking in sin, we can help them and not step on them when they are already down. Jesus was perfect, and the Pharisees would ask why is this man sitting and eating amongst the sinners, but Jesus was out to win their souls. We have to help one another because God said to love one another. We have to pick each other up and not just watch one another go to hell.

The Fear of the Lord

In the Bible, we see numerous mentions of fearing the Lord. The verse above says when you fear the Lord, it will make you wise, and we have to be humble before we can be honored.

Fearing the Lord is respecting God and knowing who he is, that he is God over everything, and fully surrendering to him and reverencing all his power and glory!

God is the King of kings and Lord of lords. God is the Alpha and the Omega. God is our Savior! Fearing God causes you to become wise because you recognize who God is, and it causes you to want to serve him and no one else.

Lately, God has sent word to our body to get to know him. And this is helping us to know God even more! Next to that is humility. We must humble ourselves before God, tell him our weaknesses, learn our strengths, and pour everything out to Him.

Walk in the Spirit and Deny Your Flesh

The word is health to our flesh. The flesh is corrupt, and all it wants is sin. When you are living in your flesh you cannot please God, and you are not of God. In Proverbs 4, it says the word is life to those who find it, and it is health to the flesh.

When we receive the word, live by the word, obey the word, etc., we are feeding our spirit, and. if we live by the spirit, God will dwell in us, and our flesh gets healed because we are choosing to walk in the spirit and we are choosing to not partake in the corrupt thing.

I had a whole paragraph typed when I started writing this, but God just turned the steering wheel! I remember one day, before I got saved, we were at a weekday service, and Pop Pop told the congregation, “to leave Mya alone." He said I got her, and I know how to win her.

Those few words really turned something within me. After all these messages I was getting about being saved, and letting go of everything I was doing, those words really pierced my heart. I continued doing what I was doing, but then I had decided I needed to change. I started to cut everything off that I knew wasn’t good for me, and I had decided that I’m not being involved in these things that are taking me to hell any longer.

 Rain On Us

I encourage everyone to listen to this song titled, “Rain On Us” by Earnest Pugh. The first time I heard this song I was driving, and ever since I heard it, I can’t stop listening to it. It talks about letting God’s Spirit, glory and Holy fire consume us, rain on us, and breathe on us.

Last Sunday, Chief Apostle Gunn said he had a vision of a pot, imagine one of those big, bulky, old fashion, steel pots you see on tv, and it was burning red hot. Chief Apostle also said that God is going to rain his Holy fire on the youth, baptizing them in the Holy Ghost.

He said God showed him Zaida ( a young lady in our body, who is my cousin) getting saved, and that God has a plan for every one of us to go out and save his souls. God has been speaking and moving.

Chief Apostle also said there's an anointing in the Body, and God showed him the Body of Christ continuing for generations and generations, and that our Body is a school of prophets. God is speaking and we have to see how important and amazing it is that he is speaking these things over us, but we have to believe and walk in it by faith. God doesn’t lie!!

God Made A Way

I was in Exodus, and I was reading about Moses, Aaron, and the children of Israel. God was with Moses and he used him to free the children of Israel from the Egyptians. Long story short, the children of Israel were set free. But, the children of Israel complained and complained and every time they complained they would say they would rather have stayed captured than to die in the wilderness.

God had delivered them and he used his prophet and leaders and yet the children were still ungrateful. But, God kept answering their prayers. When the children didn’t have any water, they complained, and Moses would pray and God provided. When the children didn’t have any bread, they complained, Moses prayed, and God provided. If the children of Israel would’ve had faith and would’ve been grateful they wouldn’t have kept complaining because they would’ve known that God would provide. The Lord kept providing for them in the midst of them being ungrateful. Have faith and be grateful for everything God has done for you.

Deception

Deception means the act of causing someone to accept as true or valid what is false or invalid.

Today, I will be coming from Jeremiah 9. In verse 6, it says thine habitation is in the midst of deceit; through deceit, they refuse to know me. Verse 8 says, their tongue is an arrow shout out; it speaketh deceit: one speaketh peaceably to his neighbor with his mouth, but in heart, he layers his wait.

Yes, the devil tries to deceive us, trick us, and throw threats at us, as Apostle Keta preached on Friday service, which was a great message, but we don’t have to fall for or believe everything Satan is trying to throw at us to cause us to tremble, stumble, fall, fail, be tricked, etc.

Yes, Satan tries to deceive, but how have we tried or are deceiving ourselves, and that is just helping the devil even more? In the above scriptures, the people's habitation (a dwelling place) was in a pool of deceitfulness. They deceive themselves by refusing to know or serve God. Their tongue spoke deceit because they were saying one thing but on the inside thinking another way (which also means trying to live one way on the outside, but on the inside, you’re doing the complete opposite).

A Precious Gift

They That Wait on the Lord

"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint” (Isa. 40:31)

Wait on the Lord. We shouldn’t be moving 10 steps before God and we are looking back to see where God is. We should want God to be ahead of us always so that he can lead us. Waiting on the Lord also ties into the message Apostle Kanya talked about on Friday. She was instructing us about abiding in God, and it was a great, anointed and powerful message. When we are trying to abide in God, we also have to wait on God, because how can we tell God: I’m not going anywhere, if we can’t wait on and in him.

Isaiah 41:13

Isaiah 41:13: For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.

Today, was my first day doing a SIMS lab in the nursing program. The SIMS lab is a place where we deal with mannequins that act like humans and we have a scenario and we have to perform that scenario in front of our instructor. I was nervous, but then something came to my mind. "The Lord is my help."

After I heard this, I looked up the scripture and it was Isaiah 41:13. God is reminding us that he is here to help us. If we trust in him and we have faith God will help us and we don't have to be afraid. When we start losing our faith and not trusting in God we will notice that we will start to get afraid, but God is telling us to not be afraid, but you won't be able to not be afraid by what may come if you don't fully surrender to Jesus.

The Valley of Achor

Achan and the children of Israel had committed a trespass in the accursed thing. The Lord told Joshua to destroy the accursed thing from among them or God will no longer be with him. God can’t be mixed with the accursed thing. We indulge in accursed things, and it’s just causing us to be separated more and more from God.

Joshua had to destroy the accursed thing, and even though he wasn’t engaging in it, God couldn't be in that place anymore, and if Joshua would have decided to stay or not be obedient then God would’ve had no choice but to leave.

Joshua chose to be obedient to what God was instructing him to do, and he didn’t want to be mixed with the accursed thing. Sometimes the people we are around, the places we choose to go to, and the things we still try to engage in can be accursed things, and if we don’t kill it off then God can’t stay with us.

7 Steps of Lot's Downward Spiral

Last service, Chief Apostle H.C. Gunn talked about Lot and how he wanted the bigger land over the prophet, leader, and father figure who deserved more (Abram). He also talked about how Lot and his family were supposed to leave Sodom and Gomorrah behind because God was going to destroy the sinful land, but they still looked to that place whether physically or in their hearts.

I was blessed with a new Bible by my grandparents, and it has additional breakdowns of the scriptures to get a better understanding and more insight. The thing that stood out to me when I was re-reading the scripture we were going over in service was the 7 steps of Lot's downward spiral.

Lot shouldn’t have dwelled in a land that was full of sin, uncleanness, and things that were an abomination to God.

There's Nothing Better Than You

There’s nothing better than you ...

In this song, the chorus says, “Lord there’s nothing better than you.”

We have to be at a place where God is the best thing to us. So many times, we put things, people, and materialistic stuff before God. We hold more value in things rather than the most precious treasure we have, which is Jesus.

We need to value how amazing God is. God is truly the best thing and there is nothing better than him. We don’t admire God for who he is, but we admire so many things over him, and then they become idols.

Yes, we could like certain things, or we could have people who we love and are close to us, but they shouldn’t be admired or more valuable than God.

Trust God in the Process

Commit to the Lord and trust in him, and he will move on your behalf.

Life is a process, and we may face and go through many things every day. One day may not be like the next day, but one thing is for sure -- every day, we can commit our ways to God. We can have joy in knowing that we are trusting in a constant God in the process we are going through, and that we are letting him take the lead in our lives.

When we trust and commit to him, God will help us through what ever we may face or whatever road we must travel, and he will act on our behalf.

We can’t let our flesh or our sinful nature try to take control of our lives, we have to let God be in control. We have to trust in God, not man, not things, and not ourselves.

The Mustard Seed

Matthew 17:20 - And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

What or who have you been putting your faith in? In this scripture, Jesus said if we have faith as a grain of mustard see the mountain will move. A mustard seed is about 1 or 2 millimeters. That is very tiny. This is powerful because it shows faith will take you a long way. He didn’t say we had to have faith as big as a bus because God knows that would be difficult for some, but he said a mustard seed.

Your DNA

God created us.

Genesis 1:27: So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

In this scripture it tells us God created us. We often overlook and don’t fully understand that we have God’s DNA. Think about it, just like you have your parents' DNA because they "created" you then it’s the same principle with Jesus.

God is our Father, and he created us and then sent us down into our mother's womb. We will never be satisfied without Him. Why? Because Jesus is in our DNA, and we will forever be longing for him if we don’t choose to serve him.

We were created to serve and worship the Lord, so in every one of us there's someone on the inside yearning to serve Jesus, because we were made to do that.

Jesus makes no mistakes, and he doesn’t lie. Jesus has given each and every one of us a task he wants us to accomplish, but we diminish the talents, the callings, etc. God has given us.

God uses his people to do a variety of things and one of the most important jobs is saving souls. God called the disciples to help him save souls. God could’ve done it all on his own, but he decided to use men who were key in his plan. He saw a willing heart and mind and they helped him to spread his word and save souls.

Stanly, California

Stanly, California ....

It was very peculiar to me when I heard these words when I started writing this blog, but I’m letting God have his way. Chief Apostle H.C. Gunn and his companion Apostle Felicia Gunn were sent to fast, labor, wait and pray in California, but the thing is they had to go to San Fransisco, California. When I first heard this, I wondered why? Come to find out it is because developers are currently building out Stanly, California into a city, into a place, into a destination.

When I heard that it blew my mind because God is building a city and home for Chief Apostle Gunn and the Body of Christ. God told Chief Apostle Gunn that he was preparing a place for him years ago (just like Abraham) and told him the name. God has a plan for every person, and he will even build a city for you. God is so amazing, and I thought it was so cool that it is becoming a city, and there are not many residents there yet.

Where Is Your Joy?

Joy is being happy and grateful for who God is, rather than what he can do. If we give our life over to God completely, we will be filled with joy. But sometimes in our walk we let our joy meters be inconsistent.

And, if our joy is inconsistent, are we truly loving God for who he is, or are we loving him for what we can do?

We may let different things upset us, make us angry, or we just shut down because of how we feel. But, even in the trials, pain, tribulations, and hurting, we can still choose to have joy, because of Jesus!

We need to check when our joy meters are down, to see if we aren't loving God truly for all that he is.

A flower is a great example of faith because it starts small and with different resources it grows into what it is meant to eventually become.

God's Perfect Timing

God’s timing is different from ours, and the difference is, it’s perfect. We run on different clocks then God, but we can be in sync with God. The way we get in sync and stay in sync with God is spending time with him.

There are plenty of ways you can spend time with God through prayer, going to church, praising, worshipping, reading the Word, putting everything down and talking to him, keeping him on your mind, being holy, spending time with others in God, etc. The list goes on and on, and sometimes we don’t realize we could be spending time with God when we are going to go visit family, for example. We could be a witness to that family member, or if they are saved as well, y’all could talk about Jesus, and many things about being saved.

Who are you

God created us and he made us in his own image. I was praying in the car the other day and God brought something to my attention. We have to be our authentic self, the person God created us to be. We let the world, different things we experience, and other things we desire or face determine who we are instead of God. We become someone who God didn’t intend for us to be.

The world will tell us to follow this trend/fashion/lifestyle or this is how you are supposed to act, and we follow what the world says instead being who God say we are. Even our flesh knows who God created us to be, because it is our literal DNA, and it will try everything to make us be the opposite. God knows the power he put in you, and he knows what he has planned for you to do and who he planned for you to be. Satan will come and try to deceive you into being the complete opposite.

Division Gives Satan an Open Door

We are to encourage, check on, help, give toward someone else, etc.. But instead we are causing division.

We cause division amongst each other, and we need to stop dividing God’s body. How can God use us to do his will, spread his Word, and spread his body, if we are all divided.

God called certain ones to be his disciples because he wanted to use them to help build his universal body, spread his Word, and help save souls. God has shown us that we need each other. We can’t do everything on our own. God is trying to wake us up and show us that division isn’t going to solve anything.

Be Steadfast Like a Tree

The young men in our youth choir sing a song titled, "In Your Will."

In one of the verses, it says, "I will be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in you.”

Steadfast means unmovable, firm, unwavering, firmly fixed in placed, etc.

We have to be steadfast in Jesus, we can’t let one situation or anyone or anything cause us to be shaken. When we say we trust in God, we can’t let what may come our way cause us to be scared and get out of place.

When I pray, I like to say: “God help me stay rooted and grounded in you.” Trees have strong roots that are buried deep in the ground. You can’t just go push a tree over. In order for a tree to fall it has to either be cut down or a storm may cause it to break, and even then they can grow again.

Romans 12:1 says: "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service."

I am a college student and I drive to school and in the morning on the way to school I make sure to pray. One of the things I say is "God, I give you my today."

Giving God your every day is a part of presenting our bodies as a living sacrifice. We don’t know what God could have planned in our day, what he might want to use us for, or what he may want to show us, etc.

So, if we give God our today, we are inviting him in and asking for his will to be done throughout the day, and every day. If you ponder on the days that you left God out, think about how weird, emotional, stressed, bothered, tempted, etc. you may have felt.

As humans we take showers because we want to keep our bodies clean. If we go without bathing, we will start to have an odor, be itchy, feel dirty, get infections, etc.

In Psalm 51, we see the words wash, clean, whiter, renew, restore, joy, salvation, Holy spirit, etc. God wants us to be clean! God will restore, renew, wash, and cleanse us.

We can get our joy back, walk in our salvation, and have a pure heart for God, etc., when we are willing to be clean from our ways and sins.

When we are physically unclean it is a disgusting feeling, but spiritually how clean are we? Does it bother us when we are spiritually unclean? We have to make sure our mind, heart, thoughts, conversations, how we dress, how we carry ourselves, what we say, etc., are clean.

God is love. Throughout this week in prayer, I kept praying about loving one another. God has been telling us to love our brothers and sisters. Sometimes when you pray God will show you different things and as I was praying, I begin to talk about how God is love, and if we can’t love one another, then do we really have God in us? God does everything out of love. Think about it: he created a whole universe, he created people, he sent himself as his son Jesus, who died on the cross for our sins, etc.

God did all of this because he loves us. God corrects us, teaches us, rewards us, comforts us, etc. Because he LOVES us. If we say we are saved and we can’t love one another, then are we really saved?

They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. 26 Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. 27 No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.

Galatians 5:7

But in chess the two players have to take turns making a move. The player you're going against made a great move, but what will your next move be?

I choose the game of chess as an example because we are put in a lot of situations that we have to ask ourselves what we are going to do next? If you get corrected, after the correction comes it's up to you what you're going to do next.

After you learned your lesson, what are you going to do next? Are you going to have to learn that lesson again or do you know better now, so you won’t have to get taught that lesson again? We can ask ourselves what my next move will be.

God has been dealing with me in one way or another all week about “the ram in the bush”. On Tuesday, we were called to have service at the house. My father talked to us about how God tests you to see how far you are willing to go or sacrifice for God to be obedient to him.

One thing that has been sticking with me is “the ram in the bush.” God told Abraham to sacrifice his son and Abraham was getting ready to do it when an angel told him to stop, because God saw how far Abraham was willing to go for him.

This scripture is literally telling us nothing can separate us from the love of God, BUT why are we still separated?

We choose to let sin and ourselves separate us from God’s love. Love is God, so if you are separated from love, are you separated from God? God doesn’t want any separation between him and his children, but when we let sin in that causes division. God still loves us and cares for us, but he can’t dwell with sin.

REPENT!

Repent!

There are diverse ways people may repent. When you receive salvation, you confess to God you are a sinner, and you ask for repentance for all your sins. In this form of repentance, you are making a 180 degree turn from sin and your old ways, not 360 degrees because that means you are right back where you were.

Another way is if you are already saved and you ask God for repentance.

You may pray, “God I repent. Please forgive me for all my sins and for every commission and every omission.”

Everyone has a part to play. If you're saved you are a part of God’s universal body. What I mean by that is, there are people all over the world that are saved and we are all a part of God since we are saved.

1 Corinthians 12: 12 says, “For as the body is one and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also, is Christ.”

1 Corinthians 12:14 says, “For the body is not one member, but many.”
The bottom line is we are all one. But how can we all be one if everyone isn’t doing their part?

 If You're Truly Saved

Is your salvation being questioned?

If you are truly saved and really loving the Lord, then your fruit will show it.
Rather by your actions, things you say, or the way you carry yourself.

Our fruit speaks, and some of us have big juicy fruit, and some of us have shriveled up fruit.

Matthew 12:33 says, “Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt; for the tree is known by his fruit.”

We Can Be A Job: Will You Trust God?

Job was a man who was dedicated to God. He had his eyes focused on Him.

In the book of Job, Satan was permitted by God to tempt Job. God knew Job was not going to turn his back on him. Satan took away Job's children, cattle, riches, and health.

In all this, Job did not sin. He honored God because he knew God was in control of everything and he trusted God that he took away all these things for a reason. Do we trust God that much? Do we trust him enough that if everything we had was gone, we would still honor God?

 It's Time to Come Clean

First, I would like to say Happy New Year! But as we come into the New Year, we must clean up and get rid of all the junk that is in us and in our lives.

1 Corinthians 3:16 says, “Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?” God’s Spirit can’t dwell in us if our body (God’s temple) is not clean.

God wants us to get rid of everything that is stopping us from serving him in every area of our lives. As children, we can be the change in our homes. My siblings and I started having church at my mother's house, it doesn’t matter how young you are, you can help rescue your home.

Rededicate! God Wants You Back Home!

Rededicate! God is giving us another chance. Each day you see is another chance. We shouldn’t waste our days. Time will one day run out and Jesus will return, but this day you can rededicate.

If you left God, went back into the world, started doing things your own way, those are all examples, but you can rededicate your life back to God. God doesn’t say if we leave him, we can't come back, God wants his children. But we must choose him too.

It's Time to Pray

This youth blog will be a little different. I really feel like we need to ask and pray for God's will to be done...and not our own.

This is a prayer all of us can pray: Heavenly Father, I pray for your will to be done in my life and in this world, for your way to rule on this earth. Lord, we are not in control you are, even though we tend to think we are. Lord, I trust you with whatever it may be because you know what's best Heavenly Father.

It's Time We Consider Our Parents and God

As teens, we can think we are considerate of our parents, but if we expand our minds and look at it, are we really? Now, don’t get me wrong ... I’m not saying you're not considerate of your parents at all, but can we improve in that area? Yes, we can.

We always ask for things we want or ask to do this or that, just requesting different things from our parents. But what if our parents don’t have the money or need time to rest? Have we considered that?

Don't Be Afraid to Separate from Others to Draw Closer to God

I am the youth choir director and the youth pastor at my local church. This is my first blog, and I pray there are many more to come and that we can grow together through this blog.

I am 17 years old. I'm a teenager trying to live right and serve God. At this time, I will be talking about friendships. Being saved and having friendships can be extremely hard as a teen.
